⚡️👀 NEWS - Is the bitcoin logo inspired by the currency of a video game?

The image comes from the game Space Quest IV: Roger Wilco and the Time Rippers, released in 1991 by Sierra On-Line.

The text at the top reads "Space Quest XII - Vohaul's Revenge II", which is a joke of the game, because in Space Quest IV, Roger Wilco travels back in time and explores future and past versions of the series, including a supposed Space Quest XII, which doesn't actually exist outside this episode.

The image shows a futuristic token with a rocket and the iconic Bitcoin ₿ logo, which is a key element in the game's adventure.

The ₿ stands for Buckazoids. Monetized on Xenon, it's the most common galactic currency, but also notoriously unstable, with wild inflationary and deflationary variations.
