Every time I use the lightning network to make a payment, it seems to work flawlessly. As soon as I try to do a "circular rebalance" on my lightning node, it's a crap shoot with a 80% failure rate.

I'm guessing it mainly has to do with the size of the rebalance, but I'm never moving more than 1/2 the channel. Most of my channels are a couple million sats, but I can't believe 500K or 750K or 1500K sats would be nearly impossible to route through 3 or 4 hops...

Anyone else have similar issue?

I receive zaps to my strike.me wallet. I use my lnd node to send though. I used to use lnd-hub on my node but something broke or it wasn't supported anymore or something.... don't remember.

He's gotta get approved by the Senate. Even with a republican majority, it will be tough. Think about how many senators receive funding from people from Big Ag, Big Pharma, the Intelligence apparatus, or all 3.

RFK is *dangerous* to these folks. I will be shocked if they approve. I would expect 100% of democrats to vote no, and at least a dozen republicans.

I run a business that accepts #bitcoin as payment using BTCPay. We give a 10% discount for orders paid with btc (https://arnzenarms.com). Even with this discount, it amounts to a little less than 1% of our orders are paid for in bitcoin.

I really think bitcoin, as a store of value, needs to take hold such that most people will have some bitcoin. Once it is common to have bitcoin, people will start trading it for goods and services.

I think we are still so early in this that I don't expect bitcoin, as medium of exchange, to outpace fiat for a very long time.

I'm kind of already doing this. At least when I'm thinking about buying something expensive. Art. Vacations. Cars. I don't think of the cost in dollars. I think of it in bitcoin and ask myself what would I rather have? That trip to Hawaii or 0.2 btc?

Every year my stack gets bigger and cost in btc goes down. Eventually that trip will look cheap.

I never understood prison as a deterrent. As a place to put dangerous people, sure... but free room and board in exchange for limited freedom? At some point the economic reality is it makes sense to cause some trouble just to get fed and out of the cold.

I realize the thread is about mental health. The problem with mental hospitals is they were abused. Husbands would commit their wives as being "histerical" and put them on lithium or other psychoactive drugs. Getting rid of them completely was an obvious mistake. There are many unstable and untreated people with no where to go so they just "mill about" in urban areas, often shouting nonsense and acting paranoid. It is quite unsettling. Especially if you have children that don't understand what's happening. Once beautiful and safe cities are overrun with the drug addicted or insane.

hehe took me years to grow. rofl my wife just walked past me on the treadmill. she said what's your heart rate? I said 96. she said "Increase the incline you little bitch!" rofl literally while replying to this.

Masculinity is under attack lately. But I like masculinity actually.

I know, shocker.

The fact that so few U.S. presidential or vice presidential candidates have had beards in modern history is funny to me. I think men usually look better with facial hair, and the older they get the more likely that is. 20-somthing or 30-something strong jaw dudes often look great without facial hair. But when men are 50 or 60 or whatever, that salt-and-pepper beard is so rad and almost always beats the no-beard weak-chin look. I actually think it's weird that neither Biden nor Trump have a beard. JD Vance looks like shit without a beard. Growing a beard is the best move he ever made, imo. And yet the media is like, "A vice president candidate with a beard?"

Masculinity can be rough around the edges, but that's what we need sometimes. It's usually balanced by other societal aspects. In some societies it gets extreme and needs to be pushed back on. My husband has a temper, but his temper is part of his power and why he impacts the world to the extent that he does. So when I interact with his temper, it's not about eliminating it, but rather it's about appreciating it but making sure it's directed in the right direction.

Masculinity and femininity are good. They don't need to be forced. Nature is diverse but society tries to categorize nature into narrower categories. Feminine men and masculine women are cool too. But that doesn't change the fact that masculine men and feminine women are also cool.

I grew up kickboxing and submission grappling. I'm a tomboy. I'm a feminist in terms of promoting equal gender rights. But at the end of the day, I appreciate masculine men. I was never attracted to men who were weaker than me in any capacity, but rather was always attracted to men with gravitas.

The easiest approach to life is to 1) respect biology as it is but then 2) also appreciate the divergences that inherently exist within it.

Trying to equalize nature is to fight against it. And yet trying to eliminate the diversify of nature is also to fight against it.

Nature is fascinating, and I do my best to appreciate it.

I grew this epic beard. My wife concluded I looked homeless and too old. In a brief survey of people I know, 90% of dudes thought it was awesome, and all of the ladies I know told me to shave.

I ended up shaving it and live full of regret. Though my face is less itchy and there is less problems with food.

Someone asked me on a trip a couple weeks ago, "Are you still into crypto?"

I said, "Well, bitcoin... but yes very much so."

He said, "Why? No one's talking about it any more."

It was then I realized that most people don't care until it's too late for them. All the life boats are full and lowered into the water. The bull market happens when the people still on the boat watch the escape.

You should think of it as one less piece of clothing to pick out and put on, that later you have to take off and clean.

Dresses are about efficiency.

Plus it looks good on you.

My wife and I got invited to a friends' 2 yr old daughter's birthday party. Wife asked what they need, or don't need, for recommended gift.

The husband responded "Bitcoin"

The wife responded, "No toys, clothes, or anything like that. I guess Bitcoin"

I ordered some Open Dimes and ready to give some sats.

Happy Birthday #Bitcoin Baby!
