I create Fediverse software that empowers people online. I'm vegan btw. Note: If you have a question for me, please tag me publicly. This gives the opportunity for others to chime in, and bystanders to learn.

Tell me a productive thing you've done in the past week. I'd be interested to know.

No. More correctly it was MyFreeCams. The largest Pleroma server used to be social.myfreecams.com until it was shut down. Both sites are owned by Leo Radvinsky.

Also there's nobody auditing it. As jank as Mastodon is, they have processes for dealing with this too and a bug bounty.

You know who's auditing it is Poast... but I don't see them being thanked.

Have you ever tried downloading an emoji pack from a server? No? Well that's the vulnerable code.

Anyway, hopefully everyone is using s3 for uploads by now and has the dedupe filter enabled.

Patch is being merged into Rebased now: https://gitlab.com/soapbox-pub/rebased/-/merge_requests/263

A patch was ready yesterday but I figured I'd wait til after it landed upstream first.

That one is actually theoretically possible. But I'm not sure it's a good idea.

Gohan to mizu, por favor

I didn't have the heart to kill it but I set it aside so it'll stop screaming at my door.

GPT-4 with AskTheCode plugin:

figure out what this does https://github.com/nostr-protocol/nips/blob/master/01.md

show me the structure including all the fields of the event. plantUML mindmap.

So good. The fact it can read NIP-01 and make workable stuff is a testament to how good Nostr is.

Waffle cones with chocolate lining are an example of great design. The added chocolate is structural, ie it prevents liquid ice cream from leaking out of the cone. At the same time, it also enhances the experience, and creates a tasty and satisfying conclusion to your cone. We should learn from this.

The Barbie movie is creating some controversy. 😂

Primal.net is like a Bluesky BGS server on Nostr.

It needs a couple of years. But I bet Ditto will start working properly in a couple of months. At a certain point it will surpass fedi due to the sheer amount of work being done.

ChatGPT 4 can optimize your SQL queries extremely well. It can understand queries and give advice about how to improve them.

On Steam you can guy a game for $60 and it will hold you hostage, forcing to register an account on some random service before you can play it, making you tell your name, birthday, phone number, secondary contact information, credit card number, home address, and solve 6 capchas before it lets you play the game.
