I managed to get my m2 macbook pro (16GB) second hand for about 1200 USD with 95% of its warranty remaining. the guy just wanted the pro/max cpu instead. his loss, my gain

tbh I prefer my mbp 13". thats the form factor i like in a portable. i can put it in any bag and go i dont have to worry about portability at all

I use both and honestly it depends what im doing but I usually prefer m2 macbook pro for anything that isnt server maintenance just because xterm+xfce4 and compositor tweaks make working on thinkpad much more cozy

its great i love it. t495 with ryzen 7 3700u, 40GB ram (8+32) and 2TB pcie 4 NVMe. had the motherboard replaced twice under warranty once because my kitten spilled an entire glass of water into it and the second 5.13(? might have been 5.15) kernel didnt go to sleep properly and i put it under my pillow and it cooked the board. since they replaced the mobo twice when it was my fault twice, i upped my warranty to 2024 white glove service :KazumaThumbsUp: will always recommend lenovo just because of their warranty coverage

my thinkpad has always been gentoo tho

im using w11 on my desktop for now. i have 2TB NVMe with w11 and 1TB NVMe with gentoo. I stopped working on it because the nvidia drivers (not nouveau) are so fucking broken and the machine literally wont boot with what was the current mainline kernel because of microcode from zenbleed so I had to wait for kernel 6.4.8 but I will probably try it this weekend again
