nostr clients are rapidly converging on excellence
They're virtue signaling as a marketing gimmick
There's a lot of frustration with Twitter censorship in the American conservative community, so I think the potential appeal is pretty broad. It also should appeal to classical liberals who actually care about free speech.
I don't think nostr's appeal is or ever was dependent on zaps. They're just another kick ass feature.
Testing post to orangepill.dev
Are there any large relays that are publicly sharing event archives? I think this would be good for censorship resistance, as well as enabling the community to do interesting things with the data.
I'm glad they're providing us with data so we can build tools to block them
I checked Twitter out the other day and it almost feels like the people who are very active on there have become infected by and are hosts to the algorithm. They're basically organic extensions of it.
Anti-spam idea for nostr: many spammers seem to employ Sybil attacks where they post the same message from many pubkeys. So can similarity between messages across pubkeys be used as an anti-spam heuristic?
It's fun playing whac-a-mole against spammers on Amethyst
nostr already has better UX than proprietary platforms
I think something like this might be a service relay operators (mainly paid ones) woukd be willing to pay for. Pay x number of SATs for an API key.
Nice work! My only nitpick here is don't report accuracy in a vacuum because we don't know the accuracy of a dumb model that always makes the same prediction, which is what we're trying to improve upon
If you go to https://nostr.wine/invoices you can enter your public key and it'll generate a lightning invoice for you. Do you have a lightning wallet set up?
nostr experience seems much better after paying for nostr.wine access
Thanks. I wonder if it might be useful be indicate in the relays view on Amethyst which ones are paid and which free. I think by default the paid ones are the ones with global turned on but might be helpful to have a reminder using some type of icon (like if someone changes their settings they might lose the info on which are paid).
What is the "friends" icon BTW? I've been assuming it's for replies to messages.
#[2] I meant
BTW @Mazin where'd you used to play poker? I used to play a lot on PokerStars before everything got shut down.
