The status quo is to rely on third parties to protect your savings and only self custody petty cash and pocket change. It's interesting how in bitcoin land you often have the exact inverse situation.

Yeah, I'm generally 70/30 on personal vs global. Spending more time in the latter lately.

Is it me or has nostr gotten quieter over the past several days?

I'd say it's an ideal end state for those with the means, but it can't be an expectation of the average person. There has to be a middle ground somewhere, which is perhaps where things like Fedimint might play a role.

One example would be advertising that one self hosts everything and only buys zero KYC bitcoin. That's great and all but it can alienate people who are not as tech savvy or don't have the resources.

Unpopular opinion: bitcoiners engage in a fair amount of their own form of virtue signalling

Did you remember to renew your monthly booster subscription?

I used OsmAnd for a little but kept struggling with the lack of address data. It's a major problem if you're in an area you don't know.

Highly recommended. It's the only alternative to Google Maps / Waze that's been suitable for daily use for me.

Does this really require pasting your nsec into the site?

Slightly questionable section of this otherwise good book 🤔

What privacy / security steps does everyone take to lock down their mobile devices?

#[0] Amethyst feature suggestion: allow maximizing profile pictures when tapped

Latest release is excellent as always 🚀

Is there a way to directly zap people (not by zapping a note) on any clients?
