Come walk through, I got out before my wife did look at the flowers! https://nostr.build/av/1bfa40e114312fa0ab7681c4b8277ba1f3dcc61be2733b261f50ad18e92ea9a9.mov
Amazing flowers. What are they? #homestead #farmstead #plants #gardening #seedexchange
Wow! Very beautiful! Where was the picture taken?
Hi Natalia my site is still very beta, but it can help you find people who share your interests https://graphicsocial.media #coffeechain
I think you just started a trend! #mugstr #coffeechain
Yummy! Where do you buy your local eggs and beef? #foodstr
One huge issue is that many people get confused when they join NOSTR and then they leave. Karnage has suggested Google Login which would greatly minimize the "learning curve" for the average user. Clients need to have "clean" relays for the new user so that users have a non-spam ,bot, trash filled experience. I see many complaints from new users which are dismissed by many. It must be easy, fun and engaging for people to stick around. After they are comfortable, then they can learn about the intricacies of relays and all the other interesting things.
Hi Joe, what client are you using? Amethyst is probably the best client for discovering interesting content
That is right! But Amethyst is the type of client which will grow the NOSTR community exponentially! Amethyst makes it easy to find content which appeals to any new user. When do you plan to start working on a web version of Amethyst? iPhone users would benefit greatly from a web version!
Yeah, this is something that can make or break NOSTR. We need lists of relays that have good filters for bad content so clients can have a standard "good relays" initial setup and we need lists of "suggested" blocks of users who are posting nasty things which Clients can implement as they see fit. Every client cannot put the time and effort into banning bots, people who post illegal content, etc there needs to be some shared effort to make "family safe" NOSTR. People who want illegal or offensive things can/will put the effort into finding the relays which allow whatever.
Nostrapps.com doesn’t have everything mostly because I haven’t had the time to add everything.
But, I also don’t add anything that doesn’t work (as in, at all). I don’t want the first time user to explore nostr apps and run into a non-functional app.
So yeah, I am curating for sure but it is not meant as censorship.
I realize other alternatives exist that will show you all available apps if you search npubs or just browse, and that’s cool, I like that we have options.
At the end of the day, I think curation is important. It’s nice to see everything that’s available, but also great to have someone put in the effort to show things that work and look nice.
Ideally, every app in the list would look great. We are not there yet, but with time I feel like we will be.
If anyone needs any color palette ideas, I have started adding some in this file. The file is mostly empty atm as I focus on the Nostr Design “guide” content (the written part) but will soon start to populate it with other things in hopes of it being helpful to your client design / development.
Do tweak the colors as you like. I have not added any gradients (yet). Overall this is not my priority but a few people asked for something practical (as in actual color palettes) so I added a few (with many more to come): https://www.figma.com/file/C2ztFLDxihrfturW7Q6kbj/Reference-Components?type=design&node-id=1%3A6&mode=design&t=2JJPaBXmGdUOG7vv-1
Hi Karnage, when I go to nostrapps.com my browser warns me that it is not secure. Have you hooked up https?
Yup! Got it! I think that actually many clients do Following+ for "global". i.e. "Global" is not the same on all clients. Very few clients do true global. They might from one relay but probably not multiple relays. It is kinda frustrating for people because everyone is having a completely different experience depending on what relays are default on the client you are using and what they have preset as "global". There need to be "dials" so you can dial it in to your comfort level!
Wow! Where did you buy the duck eggs? #homestead #foodstr #foodie #gardening #farmstead
Duuuude! I gotta have me one! tommobile please!
