Has anyone else noticed zap amounts have been trending downward? Last week I upped my default zap amount to 2100 to give folks that extra boost. 2 orders of magnitude higher than my old zap amount is still really cheap!

Nah, they're not a threat. As ironic as this may sound I believe they're helping BTC in a way. Think about all the scammers that have been getting screwed over in the past few years. The more scams that get shut down the more people begin to realize just how stupid it was to support them in the first place.

Started with #[2]​ as a friendly game of “let’s try to take down Wallet of Satoshi” to see what kind of payment volumes they could handle. It grew into a weekly event now. Some weeks there’s a zapathon target, such as supporting devs working on Nostr stuff. But mostly just meant to have fun zapping each other’s posts. I usually set my default amount really low so I can just zap as many people as I can.

Lost my main source of income a few months ago. It’s hard to find a decent job with my pre-AI tech (& lack of coding) skill set. I understand some of the basics of everything, just not a full stack expert in anything.
