No. Moments are great and makes the app seem part of nostr, maybe moments to see for contacts? Remove channels that are supposed to be for chatting?! The ui is beautiful and simple already, fucking crybabies. Is 104 done or JeffG still working on it i.e yes/no.

I wish 0xchat didn't have

- kind 1 feeds

- NIP-28 horrible chats

- auto-subscription to hardcoded NIP-28 groups that keep subscriptions open day and night and send me notifications

- some proprietary "private chat" technique

🤘 I got this working with amethyst but now I'm trying to make it work with 0xchat. If I set orbot as full device VPN it works but if I tunnel 0xchat individually 0xchat won't connect to the .onion relay. This happens with or without the proxy set in 0xchat. Amethyst seems to work with orbot in either app or VPN mode.

Has anyone had success getting this to work with 0xchat and orbot in app mode?

what type of group did you go for and why? there are a few different options.

Apple considers note zaps to be equivalent to purchasing digital content subject to their “Apple tax” for in-app purchases. Primal offers the option of in-app purchase of sats for zaps (at a premium, I assume to offset that Apple tax), and Primal iOS is limited to only using the built in wallet for sending zaps. So far this seems to have satisfied Apple’s policies. 🤷‍♂️

I have 2 phones with separate Nsec. Both connected the same way to the same servers. I should be able to send a DM from one phone to another via my private server. That’s what I think anyway. But it keeps failing. I have tried multiple settings, with Orbot on and off. If I use the supplied DM servers then the message goes through. Trying to use my private server fails.

I have tried that setting both on and off with still no better result. Yes, the .onion address is the address generated by the Nostr Relay on the Start9 server.

Hello. I am testing Oxchat and trying to use my own server. I have a Start9 server running the Nostr Relay. I have added my private keys to the relay using Hex format so they are white listed. I have added the .onion address to Oxchat and there is a green tick saying it’s connected. I have Orbot running. Now when I try to send a message I get a red exclamation mark and the message does not get sent. I have also tried the .local address with and with out Orbot and get the same result. It’s proving to be quite frustrating not knowing where I am going wrong. Any ideas where I am going wrong? #asknostr #start9 #Oxchat

To me it's unusable, constantly crashing, I think I can have many spam DMs or something, notifications non stop

*sighs* then I really need to figure out hosting my own.

But, until then... I'm still looking for info on what 0xchat does with media.

For example, nostr.build processes all media with either cloudflare or MS photodna for CSAM. Does 0xchat do this? If so, how?

If I send it via DM, no one outside of that DM would be able to see it, correct?

I don't have a server, so, I can't host my own media. Yet.
