In someways it very much is, but how I handle the terror when I’m high is what I’m after. I have zero fear (in a way that I do recognize is quite dangerous) that allows for me to push the envelope.

I had an experience at kirkwood a few years back where I was pretty much peaking on a tab coming down a double black diamond, and I realized that I had to choose between hitting a boulder or yeeting over it on a small jump to the side. It was like a 10 foot jump and I had barely done any.

Without missing a beat, I slam the jump and yeet over it, and stomp a perfect landing. I was both amazed and felt the most powerful that I ever had.

My kinesthetic awareness when I’m tripping is off the charts (I gain synthesia with touch and color when I’m tripping), so I really enjoy physical activity when I’m in that state.
