Cause I can imagine that immigrants and refugees get categorized together when calculating foreigner population.
True. Do you have any clue what portion of that 18% are which?
Buddy, you have your nostr family.
Cause I saw in your other comment you said 18% of the German population are immigrants. I was just curious about the reason.
Ahhh! Ok. So, basically the same situation as the U.S.
I can't seem to find much info on this, but does Germany outsource much of it's labor force like the U.S.? If so, from which countries mainly?
I agree. They're just lazy. They want to enjoy their retirement, and my cousin, who lives with my uncle, is just some spoiled brat who wants no responsibilities whatsoever.
What makes their whole situation even more nonsensical is the fact that my uncles are retired. They're fairly wealthy and my one uncle has his daughter (who works like 20 hours a week) living with him. There's always going to be someone around to take care of my grandmother. But, they would rather waste over 100k a year on subpar nursing care. 🤷♂️
I'm, honestly, not surprised by this. A huge amount of U.S. labor is outsourced these days. Take India and the IT industry, for example. Indian citizens make up the vast majority of that workforce. The thing is that many immigrants (many of whom are here on work visas) don't care how much the U.S. dollar gets devalued because most of them were born and raised in poverty stricken areas anyway, so any living condition the U.S. provides them with seems superior. Ironically, the mass immigration that all this outsourcing has led to has only further devalued the dollar, so these immigrants have basically screwed themselves over, as well.
This is true. My grandmother is in a nursing home and the amount of money my uncles have to spend per month is staggering. Last year alone they spent 88k and that cost has only increased.

I'm sorry to hear that, man. I really am. But, like I said, there's nothing we can do. Focus on helping your family escape the country, at least until the conflict ends. But, we can't stop the nation's leaders from waging war. 🤷♂️
Buddy, both sides do.
Yes, I agree. Individual liberty is necessary for a functioning society, but the cold hard truth is that there's nothing we can do to stop the current conflict. Don't concern yourself with this. Worry about your own well-being and your own future. You're just mentally caging yourself by worrying about something that is completely out of your control. 🤷♂️
Said it before and I'll say it again: they clearly aren't open to a peaceful resolution, so just let them destroy each other. Wouldn't be the first time in human history where two cultures have destroyed each other.
