This NRG 💪🏼

I meant as a whole, not just ending this conversation 🚀.

You don't use lightbulbs after sunset in your house?

Or your phone?

The mentally stimulating part is definitely part of it, but not all of it.

There's also the question of how bright the screen and proximity to your face - versus ambient lighting.

Your pineal gland is definitely affected by light, just close your eyes and shine a flashlight right at your "3rd eye".

I haven't watched a single video on this btw, just used my friend's in the gym and was intrigued.

For 20$ I'm going to conduct the experiment myself.

If it improves my sleep schedule I win.

If it doesn't it costed me nothing basically.

I feel you on the studies, there's definitely more to be done there.

I'm using my intuition here.

When I'm around dim lighting or even better situations when I have a stockpile of beeswax candles I fall asleep faster.

Further, if you look at the light spectrum a candle gives off versus led light bulbs or your phone / TV / computer screen you see the dicotomy quite clearly.

Lastly, increasing intensity light waves have been proven to increase cognitive function & alertness - that's not even up for discussion & obvious to anyone who has dimmers.

Conclusion: blocking light waves from entering the eyes when the sun goes down seems like a promising intervention to aid in drowsiness.

I will be trying this myself using a 20$ pair that has been proven to block blue & green light waves - mimicking candle light.

"While light of any kind can suppress the secretion of melatonin, blue light at night does so more powerfully. Harvard researchers and their colleagues conducted an experiment comparing the effects of 6.5 hours of exposure to blue light to exposure to green light of comparable brightness. The blue light suppressed melatonin for about twice as long as the green light and shifted circadian rhythms by twice as much (3 hours vs. 1.5 hours).

In another study of blue light, researchers at the University of Toronto compared the melatonin levels of people exposed to bright indoor light who were wearing blue-light–blocking goggles to people exposed to regular dim light without wearing goggles. The fact that the levels of the hormone were about the same in the two groups strengthens the hypothesis that blue light is a potent suppressor of melatonin. It also suggests that shift workers and night owls could perhaps protect themselves if they wore eyewear that blocks blue light."

This guy actually tested these in case you wanted some sort of verification 🤟🏼

Wow that is commitment love it.

What frames did you choose 👀?

Test post, please reply with a comment if you can.

Something tells me I should spin up an account for a few weeks 🤔🤣

This needs another half of the meme where she's gone and he's happy with his cheese.

Top plastic athletic wear starts at ~68$ now.

Merino stuff is expensive 🫰🏼.

6% of people on Nostr don't fuck with you? 🤣

So far just sockeye salmon.

I'm going to nail down exact temps and timings over the next week and publish my method here 🤟🏽😎.

You can use screws! I got lucky and the heatsink I bought had some good screws that worked perfectly.
