I feel you on the studies, there's definitely more to be done there.

I'm using my intuition here.

When I'm around dim lighting or even better situations when I have a stockpile of beeswax candles I fall asleep faster.

Further, if you look at the light spectrum a candle gives off versus led light bulbs or your phone / TV / computer screen you see the dicotomy quite clearly.

Lastly, increasing intensity light waves have been proven to increase cognitive function & alertness - that's not even up for discussion & obvious to anyone who has dimmers.

Conclusion: blocking light waves from entering the eyes when the sun goes down seems like a promising intervention to aid in drowsiness.

I will be trying this myself using a 20$ pair that has been proven to block blue & green light waves - mimicking candle light.

No one uses phone / TV / computer screen for its light though, there’s a compounding factor that they make people restless because they’re also relaying mentally stimulating information

I think the candlelight is a great idea ~ natural and all it does is provide light. Nothing else. No mental stimulation in the form of information from a TV or phone

If you watch enough marketing videos I’m sure the glasses will work ~ i wish you the best

You don't use lightbulbs after sunset in your house?

Or your phone?

The mentally stimulating part is definitely part of it, but not all of it.

There's also the question of how bright the screen and proximity to your face - versus ambient lighting.

Your pineal gland is definitely affected by light, just close your eyes and shine a flashlight right at your "3rd eye".

I haven't watched a single video on this btw, just used my friend's in the gym and was intrigued.

For 20$ I'm going to conduct the experiment myself.

If it improves my sleep schedule I win.

If it doesn't it costed me nothing basically.

I never said I didn’t

I recommend not but I’m a human being and as such, I do

I think candles are the actual solution to people’s problems - the ideal solution to this problem we’re discussing

I don’t think much else matters when talking about blue light and blue blockers specifically

You’re rambling into other things now like how we can detect light when our eyes are closed so I’m happy to leave it at this

Zero rambling, just talking variables at play but this seems to be a frustrating conversation for you so I suggest you leave the topic alone 😂.

I already suggested leaving it alone 👍

I meant as a whole, not just ending this conversation 🚀.
