I mean if you are trying to make gains in fiat terms and you know what your doing (ie front running) then go right ahead and shitcoin, it's a lot of work, it's stressful and risky. But if your asking if I think Solana or near (or any other shitcoin) have any utility or solve any problem then my answer is no.

A little of both I guess. I am curious if they have any utility at all or if they are just speculation vehicles as they seem to be. About half my crypto holdings are BTC and the other half is everything else. Bought in most everything thing about a year ago and told myself I'd sit on it for 2 years. Now I'm seeing these other coins pump a little and I'm thinking of getting out sometime before the fall or sooner. I was brought to crypto by a friens with a defi gambling problem. BTC seemed like the only legit store or value I could see.

It is possible to make fiat gains in shitcoins but what does it take away from you to juggle them all and you may get rugged at any minute. Prices in Bitcoin are going down forever, the rest is noise imo. Kuddos for being open minded tho brother 🤝, being on Nostr at all means your super early.

I definitely realize I'm here early and I'm very excited about that! I am a BTC believer but my landlord won't accept it for rent just yet.

We don't trade. We don't trade bitcoin, we don't "take profits", we're here for the revolution.

We've also seen traders come and go, and we've seen their fates where maybe a few get rich, a lot end up becoming influencers making money from their viewers and pretending that they're making money from trading and many more go broke.

We see that simply being patient and focusing on understanding the utility of bitcoin and not just its price action is what gives success.

We all thought we were late, we are not millionaires or billionaires, but we are doing well enough now that we no longer desire to run in the rat race. And yes, trading and trying to dig your way out of poverty is the rat race. Standing still in fiat and trying to earn your way out is also the rat race.

Shitcoins are fiat, they are controlled by individuals and no different to the current system. Look at the top 10 cryptos over the last 10 years and you'll see the sheer number that have looked like succeeding temporarily but still failed.

I certainly agree with your statement. Guess I still have a foot in that fiat world. About half my crypto holdings is in #bitcoin. The other half I'm hoping to unload sometime this year.
