literally was just looking for an easy way to send events to my relay 💜

I feel this! sometimes the urge to send is just too great 😂
As many of you know, I've been at Swan Bitcoin for the past 2.5 years.
As Head of R&D, my job has been to basically play with bitcoin stuff: Miniscript, BDK, making Coldcard do cool shit (like hook it up to a CLN and use it as a lightning signer), write Swan's LN backend, t-of-n ECDSA signing, and a bunch of other cool stuff.
If it hasn't been super obvious thus far, Nostr has absolutely captured my imagination and inspiration.
Now it's the time to take a step back, and transition to working on nostr full-time. What am I going to be doing? I'm not sure yet, I have an abundance of ideas that I will be/already am exploring, but now it's the time to double-down and seriously pursue things.
There's a WHOLE lot more to come.
I can't thank @Cory, nostr:npub1fqn4fgzkk8nm2x3wd600n935c9tc7xgg9jhk5dfa0kuvrgvsyv7sgu536l, and the whole Swan crew; it's been an absolute pleasure to work along people who share such a distinctively clear mission of doing what's best for bitcoin and bitcoiners.
LFG, team #bitcoin! 🧡
congrats on the big jump and excited to see what you cook up!
I’ve heard this from more than one person!
did the server restart?
the magic of #nostr is its simplicity - developers of all skill levels can quickly be productive.
we must fight complexity in protocol. look at the unix philosophy for inspiration.
clients pushing complex, multi-event NIPS for basic features like uploading a photo goes against this philosophy.
agreed. I think about it like this: bring your own media server file uploads, just like you can plug in any relay server for notes. files are hashed to ensure data integrity and de duplication. signatures of the content would be a nice addition.
I still think the media server spec is viable.
what do you think of this?
the complexity tradeoffs for this seems pretty high when compared to the standard multipart form over http. have you considered a solution for file uploads that isn’t websockets? 3 distinct events over ws for an image upload feels like a lot of complexity.
that was the idea behind the proposed nostr-media-spec. should probably circle back to this!
