Policy and partisianship aside, I always say that politics is brutal on families esp the higher up you go. Usually families are the first line of casualties who can never fully prepare for the scrutiny, spotlight and vitriol. And usually they are sort of reluctantly willing support systems.

I'd guess his wife wanted him to retire from politics for the next election and he said no and she doesn't want to endure anymore of it. Can't blame her either.

Yeah. Exactly. Ugh

Many bitcoiners know but the general pop has no idea. And some nostr users and bitcoiners might not.

Yea, the banksters represent the elite and wealthy and in-power, and exists to maintain and extend that power.

They love this oppressive system.

Banks are all insolvent. (By design)

The central bank is insolvent. (By design)

Massive (enormous, basically impossible) Government loan bailouts would be needed to make the system solvent. (By design)...

... which would practically require a huge amount of printed money. (By design).

The Emperor truly has no clothes.

😵‍💫

Totally Orwellian. Canada's central bank posted a FAKE POLL today announcing their self appointed "new role" to oversee so much more. 😵‍💫 Godspeed to us all.

Yes. Haymakers. You know when to full court press. This is the issue! Lightning and zaps are the paradigm tectonics. 💯⚡️

Replying to Avatar rabble

Yeah, I think many countries would consider ML generated CSAM to be the same thing as an actual picture or video taken of a sexualized child.

UK for example: https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-65932372

And Australia it can be text, not just images or video: https://www.lexology.com/library/detail.aspx?g=be791d54-9165-4233-b55a-4b9dad5d178d

The risk for most relay operators is that people will using nostr for the discovery / connection between people who then go in to other apps / servers to actually exchange the content. Apparently it’s a kind of whackamole with different hashtags people search for this kind of content.

Thanks for addressing this. To say it's a massive concern is still an understatement. Esp since the sound of freedom movie and surrounding issue was released. (Haven't seen it but the sub matter alone is stomach churning).

Nostr is a *lot* of power and freedom and well to quote Spiderman, comes great responsibility. We need white hatters here.

It seems so obvious, to me, to bake in Zaps into Tidal and contine what Napster started. Disrupt Spotify. This seems so natural.

We (nostr/bitcoin/web5/decentralization needs) need paradigm shifting movements by the power of 100 (or is it a thousand so goes the quote via Jeff Booth?) Zaps is it.

Maybe L2 Lightning Network isn't ready?

We've witnessed bottled lightning. 🌩 ⚡️

Build in pay what you like, V4V payment avenues where creators and users would both want and use them in good faith.

What are the cons to this one roadblocks?

💯

Nostr is a powerful, futuristic tool that weilds a lot of might.

It's a lot for a user to grasp, appreciate or figure out. So is Bitcoin for that matter.

Half a year ago we were on Astral.ninja using text only. Now we're sharing photos, videos, links, and... bitcoin!

Kudos to your hard work hommie 🙌

I agree. Zaps baked into an app/protocol is mind-bogglingly cool and progressive etc. I was hoping it would sell its self. But like Bitcoin, it doesn't. Unfortunately.

Also, Nostr is a *lot* of power and unrestricted 'openness'. Hence the craziness that the global and universal feeds are. 90% of regular people don't want to hang out in that vibe.

Walled gardens might keep out some pretty flowers along with the invasive weeds, but they also make a nice albeit sterile setting.

Right now the UX/UI is too clunky to be used reliably for normies, and there's too much non-mainstream stuff going on here.

And the tribes that have grown feel, insular?

It's changed and not sure if Lightning can be bottled again. (Pun intended) ⚡️

This is embarrassing. I was today years old when I figured out that "nym" is the back end short slang for "pseudonym". Face palm...

🙄🤓🧐 lol.

Decent chance it is. But imo stronger chance that Hal worked with Len and knew it was his pseudonym and they collaborated on the nym for Len. Hal knew but it wasn't him.

Best to be low key though. Let it remain the mystery is ought to be.

Disagree. It's about want, not readiness. Few people want an experience that is difficult to curate and customize. Ground zero is a mad max wasteland of noise.

Someone has to "watch the Watchmen" and on this protocol WE'RE all our own Watchmen. It's a lot of power and too much for kids and even normies.

Clients would be good to clean up the UX as much as possible, smooth out the functionality and have options for prepackaged relays that filter out content based on a user's preferences. I can't recommend this protocol to any normal person...

Too hard. Too techie. Too much filth to filter out. Too many glitches.

Personally, I like a lot about it! But this is real world feedback fwiw.
