Is anyone making a Fedimint based exchange? Send exchange $, they purchase BTC to back up your purchase, you get your BTC balance updated on the exchange’s Fedimint, you’re free to transfer out at anytime?

Exchange handles the complexity fedimints, lightning channels etc. users get cheap transaction fees and a quick path using their sats.

If you’re worried about your boomer parents pissing their retirement money away in a pokies machine, just buy your own machine, install one it in their house and have the money go to your bank account. The “Die with 0” generation gets what they want, and you get what feels like a parent who loves you more than they love themself. Everyone wins.

Bitcoin creates a meritocratic system where those who produce more than they consume are rewarded, and those who consume more than they produce are punished.

One set of rules for all to play by, no ability for wealth via fraud or deceit, and no bailouts for the incompetent or inept.

I think short interest is super high again. 25% of the shares are directly registered in retail shareholders names now plus a huge chunk in pension funds and insides who can’t sell. There’s like no free float to purchase to close shorts, so the short squeeze could feasibly happen now /shrug

100%. No interactions on any content I post, just an army of bot accounts following me. Getting anything to propagate seems nearly impossible. I feel like if I put “Software developer” in my bio, the Nostr crowd might actually be receptive to it.

3blue1brown still has the best Bitcoin explanation I’ve found, time for my yearly rewatch 🍿

My not-an-expert 2 sats going forward:

A) stablecoins acting as full reserve banks will create a drop in leverage over time, creating a rush out of speculative assets into yield bearing stablecoins. Dollar eats eats everything.

B) Stablecoin issuers like Circle and Tether get mega filthy rich on treasuries yield and become shadow government style organisations.

C) Bitcoin keeps on trucking as the permissionless alternative, price probably gets a bit more boring and gold-like.

Not mutually exclusive theories.

But it can't be bitcoin or nostr related

I wonder if a benefit of AI replacing so many administrative and bureaucratic tasks away from humans, is that humans will do more human-appropriate workloads.

Less admins and receptionists, more nurses, carpenters and mechanics. More of the customer interfacing with AI to communicate their needs and to facilitate the work, while the humans are actually doing the work.

I have paid you the money. Now I own your opinions forever. Good trade

Nostr seems like a no-brainer solution for action sports social media content creators.

Typically, content creators of sports like skateboarding, parkour, snowboarding etc., really anything that is getting clips, editing together with a song and posting, require indirect payment for this work, largely through the form of brand sponsorships.

With Nostr it's a direct value-for-value market. Post sick tricks, get sick tips (zaps). A content creator with ~10000 followers could post a new edit once a week, with a tip ratio of 1/20 viewers and an average tip of 10c and directly be paid $50.

In a low cost of living areas this is a huge game changer. Increase the numbers a little and it gets to be a pretty viable source of income regardless of location.

A world-class professional rollerblading would have ~50000 followers, and with the high quality of their content I would guesstimate a higher average tip value. 70c tips, 1/20 tipping ratio they would be pulling ~$1750 PER POST. Repeat every week, $91K per year.

Content creators distribute their product direct to their viewer and globally, so they should use a social media platform that pays them directly for their work, direct from their global audience without any sponsorship concerns.
