If you want to design lots of gardens, I can recommend learning CAD.
It’s brilliant for quickly working out tree spacing and calculating lengths & areas, as well as dcoumenting planting, plus CAD plans are easy to share as PDFs.
The software is free (QCAD or LibreCAD) and my introductory, info-packed 1 hour class is half price with this link, only £9.99

Intrigued by more geometric designs for a #WildlifeGarden with #NativePlants -- does wildlife care if you have geometric shapes and straight lines in your garden?
nostr:npub18w02qu95yrwty4r6hrprdf2wf9md5rc5d76svscdezvm89de7pdq084458 I'm intrigued by how ecology is taught, a kind of overview, and how that could fit in to a gardener's experience. Thanks for recommendation of The Garden Jungle, I'll have a look at that :)

#Mosstodon, quiet in the valley

Some sort of weevilly Weevil. There are many types of Weevil in the World.

Just thinking that industrialisation favours homogeniety
Is there such a thing as a *UK* Ecology for Gardeners book? Would love to start wading in to ecology
Something like this:

Should only get greener and better, the plastic fences will be covered in espaliered fruit trees ftw
nostr:npub17d76katrwykn8fd9xmc64psv0chjpjt77lh223uyvr36acarh5vqsstm9a I'm guessing the birds are faster?! Morello cherries are _supposed_ to be the least susceptible, on account of being near-black. But I guess birds don't read

Do you like #wildlife? Into #gardening?
Then consider a #ForestGarden, essentially an Edible Ecosytem.
Martin Crawford has a brilliant book ‘Creating a Forest Garden’ https://www.agroforestry.co.uk/product/creating-a-forest-garden-2/
And I helped make a free online spreadsheet of *all* the plants in the book

nostr:npub18ljjwuh8vt0lrh3fe3vsefddt40u297gtsk3d4v4ywhjnvms9zfqy480hq I was talking about cuddlefish with my 7yo yesterday! And I was thinking about making Plum Cobbler tonight. Synchronicity innit
Here's a garden I've been working on, gradually getting greener :)

If you are creating a garden, please design for the wildlife.
It’s not “Humans vs. Nature”, we *are* nature, so we can design for everybody. The more diversity of life in your garden, the more joy there is.
I’ve compiled a list of free resources https://natureworks.org.uk/resources
and made a free taster class about #NativePlants in the #ForestGarden
