at any rate with it being zero, that means the ability to create money is virtually infinite

And let's not ignore that I'm the owner of collapse.pub in this discussion, I kinda have vested interest in collapse and pretending that what has worked for them for so long is going to stop working because... they're doing the exact same things they were before, will somehow result in crash as compared to recession cycles of differing degrees, is wishful thinking.

>they're doing the exact same things they were before
worse even. the federal reserve recently reduced the fractional reserve requirement to zero for example.

It seems far more likely to reach a state of multipolarity, where a majority of legacy trade deals and renewed trade deals are done in dollars because it makes more sense than direct currency trade, and specific cases where direct trade makes more sense, and specific cases where using a coalition-dollar like BRICSbucks makes more sense, reaching some equilibrium where the US still has legacy pull, but will be forced to become competitive again in the face of a new multipolarity of power.

i don't know how long the USA can rely on inflation, debt and wars propping it up.

dollar 65->58% that's quite a loss, and in 2023 BRICS nations have just made some major changes so we'll see where it is at the end of this year. i predict the trend continues and yuan continues to rise and dollar falls
nostr:npub1mh5a6mhm4u78glqxhltq7uexv6kddphycthlguvn0ux8ch72tc8q6q233h the petrodollar is just one contributor to global demand for dollars and its status as the world's reserve currency which is decreasing. overall demand for dollars definitely matters, even nations turn around and use it to buy their native currency, or gold, or anything else. those are still transactions and holdings.
i would like for btc to surpass the dollar but more likely the yuan will

>The fact that they wire USD through the SWIFT system doesn't really matter
it really does matter. not sure what your agenda is, but what it does is create international demand for dollars. people who hold dollars spend them

>petrodollar system did exist for a few years in the 70s
not just the 70s. until recently most transactions for oil were made in dollars. the dollar's status as the world's reserve currency is on the way out. major countries not using dollars to trade oil is a fairly recent development
toasty in here
apparently this stuff doesn't require refrigeration?

>they keep their money in dollar bank accounts
not any more since their assets are getting seized left and right in western banks.
also BRICS and others are making oil deals not denominated in dollars. the age of the petrodollar may be coming to an end (and the US empire)
my attempt at actually keeping the omelet in an omelet ahape

it was just a mini project though
just went 3 levels deep in project prerequisites. never do that...
