Barely $9

I'm in a restaurant to eat spaghetti 🍝 not steak n shake restaurant. Can I send the proof photo and the bill?

I have realized overtime since switching from Twitter primarily to Nostr, I have realized that really all traditional social media has the same vibe, “Like me, follow me, Buy my course, Ect.” When I was on X and first came to Nostr, I was stuck in this mentality, really wanted people to notice/like me and was desperate for attention. I tried this approach on Twitter for a while but although I had 2000+ follows on there (most bots) I got no attention and everyone ignored me, except one user I was kinda friends with, don’t know what happened to them now anyway.

When I switched to Nostr I again tried this same approach, wanted to get attention any way I could, it was bad and I did many things that came across spammy and annoying and it really hurt the trust the community had in me.

Many people called me out and honestly most of them were right in doing so, some are my friends now today and some still call me out. That’s their call and business and I don’t have a problem with them.

The reason I am saying this isn’t to try to get attention, the reason I am saying this is because I have noticed Nostr slowly adopting these same practices largely like X, and I don’t want that to happen.

Nostr should not and is not meant to be a place to farm engagement, it’s supposed to be a decentralized place for people to share their ideas and thoughts with each other.

So please new Nostr users, don’t do what I did. Build genuine connections with people and share your passions, and you will find your tribe.

That’s it, love this place. 🐶❤️

Thank you for sharing this so openly. It takes a lot of self-awareness and humility to reflect like this publicly, and I really respect that.

I completely agree with your thoughts on Nostr. Its strength lies in authenticity and real connection, not clout chasing or artificial engagement. The fact that you’ve grown from your experience and are now using it to guide others shows real growth.

If you earn it, they tax it

If you spend it, they tax it

If you save it, they tax it

If you invest it, they tax it

If you build it, they tax it

If you live in it, they tax it

If you drive it, they tax it

If you eat it, they tax it

If you give it away, they tax it

THEN… they WASTE IT

REVIEW ON NOSTR

The last time I had a bank account with a credit card was in January 2024.

I stopped having an account and a credit card because of daily issues: unjustified deductions by the bank, fear of hacking, the possibility of my account being blocked, and the inability to withdraw as much as I want per day.

Today, I wanted to learn more about how to obtain a badge certificate on nprofile1qqs9xtvrphl7p8qnua0gk9zusft33lqjkqqr7cwkr6g8wusu0lle8jcq9vhrm, and I found out that I can only use a credit card on a decentralized social network built on Bitcoin—somewhat like the process for getting the blue checkmark on Twitter.

I believe you should enable an option to obtain the certificate by paying with Bitcoin to make Nostr fully decentralized. Unlike Twitter, Nostr could be the first and only social network where everything is possible with Bitcoin.

Subscription with Bitcoin—fast and simple.

I don't really use a bank account anymore!

Happy Sunday, everyone!

The first-ever Nostr note was created by @fiatjaf, the pseudonymous developer behind the Nostr protocol. It was posted on November 7, 2020, and contained the simple message:

"Hello, world!"

This note was the first message broadcasted using the Nostr protocol, marking the beginning of decentralized and censorship-resistant social networking.

🚨ODDS NOW 1 in 89 for Satsurday’s #Upendo #BlockParty! 🚨

⚡ ⚡ FIRST 21 PLEBS TO REPOST THIS WILL GET 1,000 SATS! ⚡⚡

Random sats to be zapped after we hit 21!

🔥🔥🔥LESS THAN 24 HOURS TO BID TO GET IN! 🔥🔥🔥

Auctions are up on Upendo: https://upendo.rigly.io

🟧 🎉 The next Block Party is a GO for this Saturday, 3/22!

We throw block parties so we can mine as a group and try to hit a block. Everyone contributes hashrate via auction and Evan, our auctioneer, throws in bonus hashrate. 🔥

✨New bidders earn 200 TH/s bonus hashrate in their first auction win.

You’ve got until Friday at 7:00 PM Eastern to bid your way into the party! (But Evan always adds extra last-minute auctions the day of!)

For example, you could (theoretically) get into the party for as little as 700 sats, provided you’re not outbid. Pretty cheap way to win your share of a block reward!

(One person won their way in last Saturday’s party with a winning bid of just 500 sats, so it’s possible!)

If you’re new to this, it’s a fun and easy way to learn about #Bitcoin mining while actively helping to decentralize it.
