Twitter’s move to disable public profiles has effectively cut a lions share of US sanctioned countries’ residents off from staying in the know of what’s happening in the world outside of local propaganda sources.
Running an educational and news #bitcoin-only resource I can’t now share Twitter links because I know that not everyone has an active twitter account. If you want to create one you need to pass sms verification, so citizens of Russia, Iran and the likes are excluded from the platform.
Seeing Nitter also failing to display tweets now.
Luckily I can share links to Nostr, but most news still appear exclusively on the blue bird app. Might have to cross post to nostr:npub10eezfnlq4ad2lyf3478na8f5las4l7guuf55vs8378lwtk87hd7slf6zka more actively.

I know Nostr-based “Reddit clients” can’t provide all the functionality Reddit currently offers, but hey, NIP-172 is just 3 weeks old. Sure we’ll have some tinkerers willing to have first mover advantage.
