I have some glass dishes I’ve used a bit. But it sucks how heavy they are. PP5 sauce and takeout dishes can work for reusable. But it takes a lot more time and effort than the pre-sterilized ones. I can buy 500 of them for pretty cheap. At the moment I’m optimizing for efficient use of my time.
Sometimes I get these weird artifacts when making it. I believe it is something with the malt extract. I thought I had figured it all out, but this batch was bad. Doesn’t hurt the effectiveness though.

This is what a spore syringe looks like after it has germinated on a petri dish. You can see that there are a large number of distinct colonies which are all competing against one another.

You have a lot of options to choose from here (I had about 3 plates which looked like this). What I do next is then use a scalpel to extract the edges of clean and vigorous looking colonies and move them to another dish to grow out further. We call this the T1 generation. In order to save time and plates I did 3 transfers to each new plate. Starting at the T2 generation, I will only do a single transfer to each plate.

I did a talk last week about merchant tools for accepting Bitcoin and Lightning at Denver BitDevs! This was my first time in front of a camera and giving a talk (at least in a long long time). It ended up being really fun, and when I got home that night I was so amped up and excited! Hope to do more of these!

I am meeting with the owner and his son, It’s a little arduous, The members generally come in and do their work on stuff, And are all really familiar with each other socially, And there is an older group that goes there to socialize with each other during the day downstairs. There is a top floor with desks where several of us are interested in bitcoin and met at Bitdevs, And today I introduced Hunter to Dustin. The objective is to get a group of us working on code to build something on bitcoin. I think there is a shot of putting together a fund to contribute to what we build and this will be more clear in the next few weeks. We will start with a bitcoin cocktail hour for everyone to mingle.
