I tried it, worked good for me.

It asks to activate the wallet, by giving personal information, but it is not required. You can just send some Sats via lightning to the wallet and zapping can start

I was just wondering if I can run a bot that is sending sats to another wallet his one is „zapping“ my post.

Now my bot can again send my sats to a third wallet and zap my post again with „the same“ sats.

No one will know, I have zapped myself with the same sats.

Or do I understand something wrong here?

I heard to use cases for Zaps.

1. Tip for users or high quality posts

2. bot prevention for fake likes/ upvotes

While I think 1. is definitely a cool feature, I am wondering if 2. really works

Update you can still send and receive stats without „activating“ the build in wallet.

Just tried Primal. It looks great, but seems it forces me to use the built in Wallet for zaps and here I have give personal data. But sure the easiest way to get started I have ever seen.

On IOS it is forbidden (by apple regulations) to zap on posts. Only zaps on profiles are allowed. That’s why IOS App Clients like Damus and Nostur removed the Zap Icon on Posts.
