Story time! On September 11th, 2021 Aaron van Wirdum was in El Salvador to report on the introduction of bitcoin as legal tender. He visited a McDonalds, ordered a Big Mac and posted the Lightning invoice on Twitter. I paid for the Big Mac while I was 9,000 kilometers away, making it the first intercontinental Big Mac purchase.
