Long hair has not signified femininity for most of recorded human history.
To the Indigenous mind, long hair repersents memory and connection to culture.
Short hair for males is a very recent Caucasian aesthetic .
Every school year, Indigenous parents have to fight with schools to allow their sons to keep their long hair. Braids are a symbol of strength, wisdom, and are something that reflects an Indigenous boy's identity. Little indigenous boys with braids should be be proud of them because that was something most of their grandfathers couldn't have in residential schools. In fact, the first thing that happened to them was to have their braid cut off. Today, Indigenous boys are teased mercilessly by non-Indigenous children who remain ignorant of the significance of long hair to Indigenous people. The bullying and teasing cause many young Indigenous boys to cut their hair to escape the bullying. With Gender Identity being pushed in the schools, many ignorant teachers will even try to gaslight Indigenous boys into thinking they are not boys at all, but girls. Indigenous children face the same obstacles in the modern school system that their grandfathers did due to the Settler obsession with Gender Ideology. The teachers have become the bullies. Just as in the past, they are not indoctrinating our children into their ideology because something is wrong with our children, they are doing it because there is something is very wrong with THEM.
Teacher, leave those kids alone!

Cut hair is expected to never be thrown away, but ceremonially burned with sage or sweetgrass to release our hopes, prayers, thoughts, and dreams.
