it's very hard to onboard people who aren't technology knowledgeable with the current system of private/public keys and NIP-05's not being very intuitive.

Wow! It's been a wild ride so far. I have follow relationships with so many talented folks. I NEVER would have imagined it'd be like this when I started this journey on my own instance a year ago.

I'm still getting used to the fact that people follow me cause they agree with what I say or like what I post and not necessarily because we had an interaction.

Fediverse works strictly by follow relationships. Therefore, if nobody on your instance followed your threads account before now, you won't see any posts, unfortunately.🤷♂️😬
However, if you've posted there *after* turning Fediverse on. You can "pull" the post to your instance by clicking the little paper plane on the threads post and copying the link, then paste that link into your mastodon search bar.👍
Makes sense. That's scary. I dread the day of having to go through getting a new provider and potentially being cut off from my meds.😬
