Everyone who was canceled, abused and maligned for even remotely suggesting that Covid was a lab leak and the public was being lied to by health and government officials about its origins is owed an apology. They have been undeniably proven to be correct at this point. The term 'conspiracy theory' has become a slur to delegitimize and censor people whom people in power disagree with.
The politicization of science poses serious risks to society. When science becomes entangled in politics and ideology, it distorts the truth-seeking process and undermines public trust in scientific findings. This is what really leads to misinformation spreading and important health warnings going unheeded. Scientists need to maintain their independence and objectivity, and policymakers should make decisions based on scientific evidence, not political expediency. When we allow politics to override facts, we jeopardize our ability to properly understand complex issues and make well-informed decisions as a society.

The recent COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted how hard it is to develop a vaccine or therapy when faced with the spread of infectious diseases. The development of effective medical responses takes time and resources, often requiring several years of research and testing.
Moreover, the potential for viral mutation and the emergence of new and more virulent strains can render existing vaccines or therapies ineffective. This underscores the need for ongoing research and development of medical advancements to combat emerging infectious diseases.
In light of this, imagine a scenario where a malicious non-expert creates a variant of a highly infectious disease such as ebola, that spreads 100 times faster than any previously known strain. Such a virus could potentially cause widespread devastation, infecting millions of people and overwhelming healthcare systems. That is the reality we are facing today with malicious AI such as WormGPT.
Even with the best efforts of scientists and researchers, it could take years to develop a treatment that is effective against such a virus. In the meantime, the virus could continue to spread unchecked, resulting in significant morbidity and mortality. It could wipe out entire populations.
This highlights the importance of responsible research and development of new technologies, including the potential risks and drawbacks. The development of super-powered technologies, such as AGI, must be approached with caution and careful consideration of the potential consequences. But I will say this, it's better to deal with these growing pains now, rather than later. We have an opportunity to proactive build defensive measures, and move society forward in way that we are capable of navigating the challenges ahead.
A good guy with super-ebola may not be able to stop a bad guy with the same disease. Therefore, it is essential to prioritize the development of defensive technologies that can effectively combat emerging threats, such as medical countermeasures. Only through responsible research and development can we ensure the safety and well-being of society as a whole.
The AI is not going back in the bag. In as little as 3 years we would start seeing significant impacts of AI on society. Imagine yourself in January 2020, and count each month before March when it became apparent we have a problem. That's where we are now with AI. The problem is looming right in front of us and coming closer at breakneck speed.

These individuals promote science and reason as their primary sources of knowledge and guidance, while advocating for kindness and compassion.
Many of these individuals who left their religious beliefs behind and turned to science may not fully appreciate that the scientific method is a tool for learning and understanding, rather than a belief system in itself. Furthermore, they may not have a strong foundation in ethical and philosophical ideas. This can result in a narrow and dogmatic view of science, which is also known as "scientism."
Scientism is the belief that science is the only source of knowledge and that it can explain and solve all of life's problems. It's an overly narrow and dogmatic view of science that disregards other important sources of knowledge, such as ethics, philosophy, and humanistic values. While scientific research and findings are undoubtedly important, they should be considered within a broader context that includes other perspectives and ways that inform knowledge. When individuals adhere to scientism, it leads to a lack of critical thinking and skepticism, which makes them vulnerable to being misled by special interest groups.
Adherence to scientism can lead to the spread of misinformation and a lack of understanding when it comes to scientific research and findings. This has contributed to the emergence of the "woke" movement, which fixate on social justice and political correctness but may not be grounded in sound scientific evidence.
To avoid falling prey to scientism and misinformation, it's important to cultivate a well-rounded understanding of science and other ethical and philosophical ideas. This includes critical thinking, empathy, and social responsibility, which are all important values for navigating the complexities of the modern world. By staying informed and being skeptical of what we're being told, we can ensure that our beliefs and actions are based on a comprehensive and nuanced understanding of the world around us, rather than a narrow and dogmatic view of science. 
Social law can only grant societies equal rights, but the undeniable reality is that evolution bestows inherently unequal faculties upon individuals. Consequently, the notion of equity is misguided and nothing more than an ignorant myth born from weaponized gullibility, driven by the manipulation of compassionate-sounding narratives. 
Disarming the American public in a misguided attempt at gun control would be devastating for democracy globally. While it may not be immediately intuitive to some, a nation of armed people provides a deterrent to potential aggressors through the security of mutually assured destruction. After observing the events unfolding in France, I am more convinced than ever that it is crucial for Americans to uphold their right to bear arms. 
Bitcoin 
A former Mexican Congressman has been found guilty of "gender-based political violence" for his social media posts. Specifically, he referred to a transgender-identifying politician as "a man who self-ascribes as a woman." He has been convicted of "digital, symbolic, psychological, and sexual violence" for this.
The use of the terms "digital violence" and "symbolic violence" in the context of this case is indeed cause for alarm and concern. Criminalizing speech that is deemed offensive or controversial will continue to have devastating implications for free speech, which is foundational for democracy to function.
Limiting free speech in this way creates a slippery slope towards authoritarianism by giving the government and other powerful entities the ability to control what people can and cannot say. This ultimately leads to a chilling effect on public discourse, where individuals feel intimidated into silence on contentious issues for fear of criminal repercussions.
Using terms like "digital violence" and "symbolic violence" to describe speech is alarming, as it expands the definition of violence beyond physical harm to include subjective harm caused by words or ideas. This broadening of the definition of violence will have far-reaching implications for free speech and will lead to a situation where any speech deemed offensive or controversial is criminalized.
In the pursuit of fixing harm caused by discrimination and violence, it is important to ensure that free speech is not sacrificed in the process. Instead, we should strive to create a society where all voices can be heard, and where contentious issues can be discussed and debated openly and respectfully, without fear of criminal repercussions.
The overwhelming consensus among experts is that encryption is either effective for everyone or useless for all. There is simply no way to achieve mass surveillance that is both safe and private, and no amount of wishful thinking or baseless claims can change this indisputable fact. I appreciate Apple’s stand on this.
