I live on 14.5 acres in Amish country in Ohio. I have raised chickens, turkeys, ducks, rabbits & sheep. I’ve planted cherries, hazelnuts, peaches, mulberries, paw paws, apples, pears & nectarines. I garden (badly) but I am learning more every year. I work remotely for a bank as a mortgage underwriter- fingers crossed I am still doing that when you read this. I hunt on my land - have gotten 5 deer since I moved out here. Into everything homesteading.

Morning Maria - I love it too, feel so lucky to live here

Morning Nostriches

Beautiful morning today for some sunlight on the deck. Got some geese on the far side, took their pic, but they’re really far away.

Loan mine has been relatively slow this week. Hope we pick up next month. I want bonus & OT

Good LATE morning Nostriches!

Ummm apparently my body needed rest becasue I rarely sleep 10 hours 😴

While these stats are amazing, I am a bit droggy this morning (probably due to combination of melatonin + Past Tense headache essential oil I used last night).

Well…

Here’s to waking up 🍻

Last week was great productivity wise. I completed a major project for my business, having relaunched https://abovethelineleader.com with clear messaging, offers, and 3 resources for business owners and leaders.

This week I’m focusing on (finally…) launching Above The Line Leader Show, a podcast of:

Weekly conversations for faith-driven leaders to overcome challenges and lead with clarity and purpose. Hosted by your’s truly, Above The Line Leader Show brings you actionable strategies, real stories, and insights from experienced leaders to help you grow, build meaningful relationships, and make a lasting impact in your business and beyond.

If you know of any guests that would be a good fit for the show, please connect them with me!

Ok…well it’s amazing how a little proof of work (witing this Note) can awaken the synapsis.

Or…it might also be the #coffeechain kicking inLOL

God bless y’all and as I try to do; I’ll check in later as time permits.

Ciao, ciao

Pura Vida

Nice job Rip

One splashed down right after I took my pic - stupid late duck.

Cool thing was I had a big snapping turtle float through yesterday when I had a houseful of guests. Got to pass the binoculars around to the city folk.

Morning Nostriches

Should be an ok day in the loan mine today. Just enjoying my final few me moments before I have to jump through the corporate hoops.

So many bird sounds. So peaceful

Or, depending on how much the fruit is worth to you, perhaps you can make a frame from 1.5-2" PVC and some "ell's" & "tee's", and drape the netting over it. This page has netting in various amounts & dimesnions...

https://www.amazon.com/s?k=orchard+bird+netting&crid=21Z1I8U1ZXDBW&sprefix=orchard+bird+netting%2Caps%2C415&ref=nb_sb_noss_1

My parents made something from PVC, Slip-fit voints , zip-ties & netting like in the link above, and it has lasted more than 25 years. They're in northern Ohio & it was taken down every fall & put back in the spring.

I hope this helps! If there are berry farms/orchards near you, you might stop by and see if they use netting, and if they have any old net they might be willing to give you or sell cheap....

Shut the front door! I never knew this was a thing!!!

Those are black cherries - the sours haven’t flowered yet

I have Japanese walnuts & black walnuts - I’d recommend the Japanese, it’s easier to get at the nut

Good news! There will be cherries!!

Now I need to know how to keep those flying thieving bastards off them
