Good question. We all understand that this crackdown is not about stopping crime but rather blocking any alternatives to the coming #CBDC… Choosing the money you want to use is not a crime so they need to make alternatives unusable for the masses.
The challenge for #Monero is going to be the accessibility to the masses. It would be a shame to end up as an underground tool. But with #KYC on the base layer #Bitcoin is in the same position (there won’t be any freedom to transact for KYC bitcoins).
The only one way out I can think of is to grow the adoption in a circular economies now. I doubt people will take action even when cornered with a #CBDC. Most people didn’t mind taking the poison. The path of least resistance is often chosen. I’d like to believe that holding private crypto and wait for the storm to pass would be enough but I doubt that will make it. The #Goldback is also a good alternative which is easier for people to understand and adopt (again this comes down to the path of least resistance).
I’m not sure how the difference of treatment between “cleaned” and “dirty” #Bitcoin by financial institutions will end up playing out but the worst case scenario would be a different exchange rate and market for each category. Unless Bitcoin moves to proof-of-stake I don’t think that the censorship of P2P transactions of “dirty” bitcoins is likely. Having two markets/exchange rates would already be a quite destructive consequence. https://casten.house.gov/imo/media/doc/blockchain_integrity_act.pdf
#Trump and #Biden are playing for the same masters. They are addressing two different audiences but they are most likely advancing the same agenda. During his presidency, Trump has left many clues behind him that he’s not pursuing the agenda he pretends to pursue. I still want to hear a good explanation as to how Trump didn’t fool his audience whereas he was directly implicated (through the “Qproofs”) in the #Qanon psyop. Deep state propagandists always play both sides. There are a lot of good people around Trump but I’m afraid the “keep your friends close, and your enemies closer” is at play here.
Trump says he’s “fine with” “crypto.”
This should be obvious to everyone already, since he literally created *two* NFT collections on Ethereum.
What Trump is NOT is pro-#Bitcoin
But hey, at least he’s pro-printing-trillions-of-dollars & proud of Operation Warp Speed, right? https://v.nostr.build/2RK8X.mp4
I don’t trust the man to do much about the current anti-crypto agenda but honestly if we’re still going to argue on what what separate the #Bitcoin vs the #crypto community rather than fight altogether we for sure are going to lose to the State. Divide and conquer is one of their favorite playbook but here they don’t even have to divide us.
Bitcoiners! If you had the choice between deploying tomorrow a #FreeEnergy technology that would provide infinite abundance for humankind but would make #Bitcoin’s security model moot or keeping the status quo, what would you choose?
But my point being that those systems allow for new capital inflow which will be more limited if on-ramp is cut.
Yes, but it doesn’t have to rely on biometrics or if it does the data shouldn’t be stored on proprietary hardware like for Worldcoin…
Yes, in theory this makes sense but in practice not the merchant doesn’t accept Bitcoin it’s lost cause. I mean you could potentially convince him over the long run but not on the spot.
Yes, right my post is confusing. I was referring to human-sybil resistance. Blockchains preventing for one human to run several validators.
Drivechains soon? Hopefully! To be clear I don’t think there will be an issue swapping in and out #crypto without #KYC but the challenge will be for one to earn new crypto KYC free. Of course mining is always a possibility but not very accessible to most people.
With the recent shutdowns of #SamouraiWallet, #LocalMonero and other services allowing to obtain KYC-free cryptos, I think that #sybil-resistant blockchains will be a prime alternative for the #plebs to grow their cryptos holdings KYC-free. The reality is that on and off-ramp to fiat will be soon restricted and definitely forbidden for non-KYC #crypto. A sybil-resistant #blockchain can allow you to obtain KYC-free coins that you can then exchange for #Bitcoin or #Monero. The best part is that these blockchains don’t even require specialized hardware or resources (besides a little bit of your time). Spread the word far and wide and I’ll be happy to share an example of blockchain that can be used for this purpose!
#Bitcoin needs to grow its circular economy. Unfortunately, it’s almost impossible to convince a merchant to accept #BTC if it doesn’t already do so. The solution has to come from bitcoiners who sell goods and services. Make it clear that you accept P2P bitcoin payments. Offer a discount to your customers for paying in Bitcoin. By doing so, you are part of the solution. Waiting for Bitcoin to be adopted is not going to make it. We’re running out of time. ⌛️
This is a must-listen interview if you want to know more about the state of #CBDC in the US and how it’s connected to the recent crackdown on #Bitcoin and #crypto. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-free-thought-project-podcast/id1439014279
Students at Ohio State University audibly gasp and boo when the commencement speaker brings up the subject of #Bitcoin
“Is this real? I don’t like this. This is really embarrassing” https://video.nostr.build/0b90cf42ecff7e2122f2e6ab2be9c80a219d6a0077f205a67c6508297a478244.mp4
Not good to see the young generation showing disdain for #Bitcoin. I’ve seen some people saying: “it’s bullish, we are still early”. I’m sorry but this is not bullish. It’s not like they don’t know Bitcoin. They have already an opinion on it and it’s negative. They probably got brainwashed by the propaganda out of the controlled media.
Some chocking claims made by Aaron Day on the evidences that #Bitcoin development was hijacked with the support of Joi Ito (formerly MIT) who had ties to Jeffrey Epstein and funded the development of Segwit, #Lightning as well as the three #CBDC pilots! I don’t know if these claims are accurate or not. Maybe something nostr:npub1g0587hzzckcncxfm78n0996qe2s58nspy29wf02tqcj5sdzcpj4q6j40hv has investigated.

One argument against #Monero was that having privacy at the base layer would lead to delistings of #XMR from regulated entities. This has been proven to be true, however the argument that #Bitcoin transparency coupled with second layer #privacy enables the best of both world is unlikely to be true. Only, KYCed #BTC will be allowed to interact with regulated platforms. You may still get privacy on Bitcoin but like for Monero, non-KYCed bitcoins will only be usable with non-regulated parties. My conclusions is that the only way out of the Matrix is to grow a circular economy entirely based on #crypto.
Regulators possibly coercing regulated entities to inscribe #DigitalID on #Bitcoin is a big deal even for those who own non-KYCed bitcoins. Those entities won’t be allowed to accept your non-KYCed bitcoins and this restriction will trickle down to your local merchant and normie friend. Your non-KYCed bitcoins will only be spendable on the grey/dark markets or international markets not subject to such regulations.

Now that we know that +51% of the hashpower is being owned by a single Chinese operator, we shall see what is the capacity of the #Bitcoin community to fix this issue. How decentralized the Bitcoin network really is? I don’t know but we’ll find out soon. nostr:note139lct9k5nm2xccy2f28qkaeharve3fs2vurwdggcmhak5w6k0fcq5sa4vk
