Folks, I just discovered one of the best jazz-infused Krautrock albums of all time!
Spaceguerrilla by Missus Beastly—which was released in 1978.
The cover art alone should sell you.
Don’t you all get tired of the same things being pushed all the time?
It’s always Marvel movies, Taylor Swift, Harry Potter, Call of Duty…
The mainstream is just so damn generic.
Play Doom as a CAPTCHA.
Here’s a sobering fact: Apple’s market cap is bigger than the entire valuation of the TSX, Canada’s primary stock market.
Why? Because most Canadian investment dollars are put into real estate.
And we wonder why housing is unaffordable in Canada. 🙄
Look, building affordable housing is actually quite simple:
1. Tell the NIMBYs to get bent
2. Build lots of manufactured homes
3. Dis-incentivize real estate as the primary investment vehicle
4. Ban private equity from the rental market
Pierre Poilievre is right that city permits are a huge factor in housing unaffordability in Canada.
What he’s wrong about is that private developers are in any way incentivized to build affordable housing.
If we let “free enterprise” have their way, all they’ll make is 1 bedroom “luxury” apartments.
This oil painting of Billy Idol in a giant ostentatious frame is something else!
This was made by Vanessa Stockard, and she’s a riot!
No Age ~ Nouns
Phenomenal noise rock band! Just pure energy!
Sometimes, you just want to hear a racket.
However, I feel like you need to run your own relay to truly make Nostr effective.
Test
Okay, I just logged into a different Nostr client, and it was so easy, it felt like magic.
The public/private key system almost feels like magic.
This is something Nostr does way better than the Fediverse and Bluesky.
Rolling Stone just published the 50 best video games of all time, and it’s the most milquetoast, boring list they’ve ever generated.
Literally *no* Commodore 64. Amiga, ZX Spectrum, MSX, Turbo-Grafx 16, Atari 2600, Apple2, or PC-98 games are mentioned.

So something progressive Americans keep asking me is, “Why would Canadians elect an extremist right wing Prime Minister when they’re so progressive and rational?”
Because this extremist knows exactly what to say.
He doesn’t just speak slogans. He always has statistics and pie charts handy. Everything he says sounds good. I even find myself nodding along.
But then there’s what he doesn’t say—and that’s what makes all the difference.
Someone asked me, “Is Pierre Poilievre a MAGA right wing or a tech bro right wing?”
Neither.
He’s oil industry right wing—which is the worst kind of right wing.
He’ll turn Canada into a petro-state.
Americans, be afraid of this man.
Because once he becomes Prime Minister of Canada, the best case scenario is that he increases oil production drastically—causing more forest fires that pollute your cities and make you sick.
Worst case? He cuts off energy to the USA.
Just lifted 225lbs!
3 sets of 4 reps!
That’s my entire body weight!
There’s nothing more fun than hearing Italians and Italian-Americans argue about pasta.
Listen, the core value of the Fediverse is that handy escape hatch.
Survivability of servers is not guaranteed. You don’t know if your admin will have a bad day and just shut everything down on a whim. Ego trips happen.
Even big well-funded servers like mozilla.social can close. But at least we all have a Plan B, C, and D.
Dell is making a bad decision.
Killing XPS is like Lenovo killing off ThinkPad: if you want a quality Dell, that’s what you get.
Without XPS, I don’t know if I would ever consider a Dell.
Justin Trudeau is resigning.
And now I can breathe a sigh of relief.
Because his leadership was hurting Canada at a particularly critical time. He may have been what we needed in 2015, perhaps even what we needed in 2020—but he’s the wrong leader for right now.
