Is not really working so far:(
We released new versions of our #java #buildtool bld and #webframework RIFE2.
More information here:

Nice
Quadrupling the size of the #NFT market with Open Source developers
How?
Let me tell you
We make Open Source more sustainable by tokenizing code and making developers NFT owners...
Why should we do that?
Because 95% of all open source projects fail in the first year.
This is an utter waste of human lifetime and work.
#OpenSource foundations only support big players - they do not help this problem and celebrate themselves.
95% of all open source code used in enterprises is therefore outdated, what leads to billions of maintenance costs and security leaks.
What is the impact:
This approach is superior to classical Open Source, because it finally allows transparent means to license code commercially and to distribute royalties from it directly to the owners of the code.
In addition it is totally #decentralized what enables new kind of software development organizations
Furthermore, we believe that it creates new funding possibilities for #opensource projects. For example developers could easily swap their #royalty rights for #funding or even sell them.
Thinking big:
This approach can create a complete new marketplace for software and open development.
These marketplaces can be based on NFT technology and we all know how hard NFTs already hit the market.
The potential of so many new users of blockchain NFT tech (imagine the amount of open source developers on github) is immense for the blockchain ecosystem
How it works simplified:
- Commits or versions are represented by a non fungible token (proof of ownership NFTs)
- Commercial usage licenses are issued via smart contracts for the non fungible tokens
- Smart contracts distribute the license funds to the NFT holders
Rome was not built in a day and a first version version is online on blockchain and in github. (Explainer page: http://license-token.com).
Would be glad if you could reshare
I wonder if here are #opensource #java or other #developers who also offer code under commercial licenses?
#FairCode is not a software #license. It describes a software model where software:
is generally free to use and can be
- distributed by anybody
- has its #sourcecode openly available
- can be extended by anybody in public and private communities
- is commercially restricted by its authors
Sounds for me a lot better than #opensource and for you?
I am not understanding ZAPs yet. I am still figuring out how I find my community here:
#java
#solidity
#opensource
#sourceavailable
#blockchainbasedlicensing
#buildinpublic
And so on...
I use Amethyst...here all gets horrible machine translated...need to change that...what do you use?
I find it also to find like minded contacts here. Did you find out how this works here?
Hi and thanks for the questions. Those matter to know what to improve.
The mechanism to force the procurement of a license is the legal one. The coders can proof the ownership of the copyright and apply legal enforcement. The more people using the license the more the legal enforcement can be done.
Was that now understandable?
The commercial use is that the entity applying and executing the code is aspiring profitability.
Bow clearer. Please ask. We learn.
Generally Rome was not built in a day. This is why we search partner projects applying the license that we stepwise fill white spots and resolve bugs. Therefore we reach out here for supporters, partners and idea pushers. We cannot change the world alone. Together we can.
Thank you.
Today, I need your help.
We developed a #smartContract based system to finally stop the exploitation of #opensource developers. (https://www.license-token.com/)
In short, it is a license (inspired by the server side and apache license) and smart contracts. With the token based apporach, everybody can fork and extend code, but with the condition that commercial use leads to developer compensation over the Blockchain.
The approach was already applied in the Fahrbar20 project of the German government.
Now, this is a first implementation and we need more reference project to improve the approach further.
Hence, I reach out for:
- gathering #feedback
- interested projects to collaborate
- fellows who help to spread the word
- supporter who buy something from our project funding NFT collection.
Any kind of help and may it just so small is appreciated. Thank you already in advance.
Best

Open for new Blockchain based licensing?
Hi. Are Rust people here open for new Blockchain based licensing of code?
Redis, creators of the popular in-memory database store, has been transitioning away from its open source roots since 2018,
when it moved its “Redis Modules”
(e.g. RediSearch) from an open source AGPL license to Apache 2.0 with a “Commons Clause” addendum
(i.e. commercial restrictions).
The following year, Redis replaced the Commons Clause with its own Redis Source Available License (RSAL)
that promised to maintain some freedoms, but with notable restrictions related to competing database services
— such as those provided by companies such as AWS.
In many ways, this was a bellwether of what was to come,
as other companies would later cite the “Amazon problem” as their reason for switching their license up.
Earlier this year, Redis’ transition to the world of proprietary was complete,
when it announced that its core software would be shifting from a BSD 3-Clause license to a dual-license setup
— RSAL or server side public license (SSPL).

Sadly most smaller and #indie #opensource projects die within the first year (95%) what makes it even harder for them
We solved this problem by using smart contracts... Now we need some feedback
Somehow I do not get Nostr yet. How do I connect with like minded people.
For example, I search connections to #java and #openSource fellows ... How do I find them? Do the people here use hashtags?
I am searching for contacts in the area of
#opensource
#java
#python
#solidity
Who like #indie projects
Imagine #OpenSource + #Blockchain:
- Prove your code's yours
- Stack innovations endlessly
- On-chain licensing & direct dev payments
Could this make open source SUSTAINABLE?
Will it TRANSFORM software?
We have a PROTOTYPE!

Hi. Imagine open source with blockchain:
Developers proof what they wrote... When licensing is done parts of the funds get distributed to the deveveopers via crypto.
We have a prototype...
Now we search link minded people. So this is my first post on noster.
Are here groups or how do I find like minded people.
