These heron-looking birds seem to walk around grassy areas, tapping their feet onto the ground and then they quickly snatch at something on the ground with their beak.

The local Barn Swallows that are nesting inside an old farmhouse appear to have had another set of young!
It's awfully dark in there, so these photos were taken at ISO 12800 and a shutter speed of 1/40s and 1/20s and they're not the best. Nevertheless, I always love me some swallows!
The people who own the building often let me go inside to check on the swallows which is nice :-)

Here's two Common Sandpipers flying above the artificial lake next to my apartment.
The lake has technically been drained, but due to the recent rainfalls it's filled up quite significantly and looks exactly like it did before it was drained. There are now only very few islands left where the sandpipers hang out.

I found this a really funny sighting, I never imagined seeing this guy on a roof! Managed to take a few quick shots before he flew off again.
