I suspect that MicroStrategy's plan with their Bitcoin is to one day sell it and take the company private. That will give them a lot of flexibility to move forward without reporting requirements and SEC overview.
It may also give them an option to sell shares of the company directly for Bitcoin.

Talk of the US defaulting on their debt is interesting but nothing will come of it... at least for now. A default seems inevitable as the size of the publicly funded debt continues to rise out of control, and the cost to service it goes up as well. I have a feeling that a default will take place in the latter half of this decade.
