Start by using the create-fedimint-app tool 🛠, which sets up a project with Vite, React, and TypeScript 📝. Then, integrate the @fedimint/core-web package to connect to a federation, manage your balance, and handle payments.
You can send and receive eCash within the federation or use LN for external payments.

🔄Accessing funds is also straightforward. Users can redeem eCash tokens anytime to withdraw Bitcoin from the federation’s multisig wallet, keeping Bitcoin within reach.

🌍Fedimint also enables payments outside the community. A gateway into the Lightning network enables global transactions, allowing members to send or receive Bitcoin worldwide effortlessly.
Within a trusted circle, Fedimint enables instant, off-chain transactions using eCash tokens. This reduces blockchain load, making payments efficient and private for community members—no on-chain fees or delays.
Deposits in Fedimint involve sending Bitcoin to a multisig wallet controlled by guardians. Users receive eCash tokens, backed 1:1 by Bitcoin. Blind signatures ensure privacy—guardians can’t trace tokens, keeping user data hidden.
⚒️ How does guardianship work? Respected community members form a federation, holding multisig keys. A majority must agree to move funds, preventing any single point of failure. Blind signatures keep guardians from accessing individual balances, protecting user privacy.
Fedimint’s community custody builds on social trust. Communities form federations with trusted members, helping make Bitcoin accessible through shared responsibility. It supports regions with limited financial access, fostering local use.

Adding @iroh_n0 allows running without a public IP or domain, this unlocks running Fedimint in Node-in-a-Box packages at home such as nostr:npub126ntw5mnermmj0znhjhgdk8lh2af72sm8qfzq48umdlnhaj9kuns3le9ll 📺Due to upcoming breaking changes on Iroh we recommend only using it on Signet (to be stabilized in v0.8).
Recurring payment support has been a much requested feature for a while now, while integrators could already implement it, we now have an officially supported way of generating LNURLs and receiving recurring payments.
