This is very true.
With some rare exceptions (IE legally enforced data deletion upon user request) nothing is ever truly deleted. Any enterprise data warehouse system, at scale, will use “soft deletion” techniques like updating an IS_DELETED flag to TRUE.
I don’t know the intricacies of the deletion NIP… but if the consensus is that the protocol mechanism is good enough, then clients would do well to implement it. nostr:note178tfxt6r98e4huv5d8vv7u8x0nkhclt0whcep3z8xutu9uuj4yuqf7syk6
The guy knows his shit tho, makes good tech YT content
LOL good point
There is a large cross section of open source devs, especially in the Python ecosystem, who are total “govern me harder” cucks. Very odd phenomenon
LOL this is smol peen energy from a tech YouTuber I usually respect.
If you don’t want others to “steal” your work, make it 100x better and profit, then you shouldn’t make your work FOSS.
That doesn’t make any sense anyway, you can’t check the “daily users” on any blockchain.
Miner signaling is also a complete joke. It’s only _block template producers_ (pools) signaling, but anyway there is nothing on the line.
They can “signal” for 2 Gigameg Blocks all day and then not mine on that chain.
Best we can do is try to gauge some social desire for a change, release a UASF client, and let the market decide.
Is this supposed to be bad? All kinds of fruits/veggies are created through human intervention for centuries before “GMO” 🤔
So private, I even wonder if CZ got any notice to sell the top from his jail cell
“Robustness” is not a term that comes to mind with JavaScript 😂
