I am honored to share some of the world's most forgotten financial oppression. On September 5th in Indonesia, exactly 38 years ago, the Burmese military demonetized major currency overnight.
The problem is that this kind of monetary oppression in Cuba, Malawi, Venezuela, Burma, and many Global South countries is usually not featured enough in prestigious English media.
One of the main reasons is that the GDP per capita of those countries is not in their best interest. But if we measure one human life as one human value, everyone matters. Bitcoin is code that dictators can't manipulate!
What happened? I thought it's only in Burma...
The answer is...
Cybersecurity law by the Burmese military came into full activation. Basically, they have absolute authority to check your phone on the street, and they will arrest you if you use VPN and use so-called illegal social media (FB, X, YouTube, etc). The good thing is they did not list Nostr!!
Just had a call with a high-IQ (by traditional standard) person from the developing world. Turned out they laughed at Bitcoin, said scam, and (blocked me on social media). Anti-Bitcoin idea is not only in the developed world. It is widespread across the planet earth among Fiat rich people, because Bitcoin challenges their status quo, obviously.

Bitcoin is freedom of speech! Many people silenced their voice when their bank accounts got controlled. Nothing wrong with them, but if they do use Bitcoin, their voice can't be stopped.
Being an anti-Bitcoin activist is the safest job in the world. There are no social penalties and no legal risks for telling other people to remain poor in the fiat world!!!

One more reason to use Bitcoin. Wise randomly closed my account this morning. No email, No warning, nothing. Their stated reason was very vague. This is the second time Wise has deplatformed me. The first time was in 2021, citing my Bitcoin activity.
