Closest I've come so far is Cape Flattery, and that left me wanting to go on further...maybe even all the way to the Last Frontier itself. So maybe one of these days I'll actually go...

Also idk if you're European or American.

Knowing nothing about you, The Alaskan wilderness seems more affordable / appealing then average euro city (unless you're not from there, then you should) or Caribbean, which seems more expensive and crowded ( which may be wrong).

nostr:npub1l45pjvg7mmrm7r0ns9qud5grz98qg9sg08de45vxtve423n5y49qmyeq6u I'm really more after taking in what it's like to actually be there, more so than anything specific really, but if it helps I do like dance classes, parties, sailboat cruises, wine tastings, history, and sightseeing beauty both natural and man-made (skiing, flying, scuba diving, and skydiving are things I might like to try but have never gotten the chance to). Oh, and I'm based in the US.

With regard to the next steps in my life, I feel like I've absorbed all the Internet can teach me; much like my recent trip to the Pacific Northwest, the only way for me to know more is to get out there and actually do it.

Really crazy how the gnomonic map projection, a cartography uniquely suited to the great-circle navigation that very modern conveyances like airliners use, is the oldest known map projection, discovered by Thales in the sixth century BC.

Image is a gnomonic map of much of the northern hemisphere from 1943, with a helpful explanation of how it all works.

Well, turns out I'm now eligible for revenue sharing on Twitter...er, excuse me, "X". I signed up for it tonight. Let's see how much all my posting at the other place pays. 😀

When one has allergies anyway in some other time of the year, it's easy to become nostalgic for that delightful all-too-narrow window of the year when the world awakens. So in the interest of reliving the blooming season, here's my photo "Memories of the Spring".

Ever a gorgeous theme: the goddess of love forming out of the waters, awakening with only those most delectable of all pleasures, human or divine, on the mind. Alexandre Cabanel's rendition of "The Birth of Venus".

The vibe: a million years in the future, the Great Pyramids restored to their original shiny-white glory, Betelgeuse's supernova in the sky, viewed on a rewilded Earth by only one pilgrim, alone in the dunes...

Nude, in a mood, and so, so summery; the lovely vibe of William-Adolphe Bouguereau's "Biblis".
