Upgraded Bitcoin mining clothes dryer has been a huge improvement over the original setup.
https://v.nostr.build/BglyHgDpxl9eMkc4.mp4
Now that I can attenuate the power consumption/hashrate with 3rd party firmware, I can essentially run the dryer on different presets based on what I'm drying. Also, with lower fan speeds, the positive pressure in the drum is reduced which means less lint and heat escaping into the room.

Update so far from me, #StackerNews and #Nostr
**🍻 Buy My Chinese Lab Tech a Beer**
In case you didn't know, I teach at an international school in China. I've recently been guiding a Chinese coworker of mine into the labyrinth that is Bitcoin. I've gotten him set-up with a Bitcoin wallet. But I keep thinking, eventually I want him to understand lightning...
But I'm a fan of self-custody... And I can't very well tell him,
>"Okay, so just download nostr:nprofile1qqsrf5h4ya83jk8u6t9jgc76h6kalz3plp9vusjpm2ygqgalqhxgp9gpz4mhxue69uhk2er9dchxummnw3ezumrpdejqzyrhwden5te0dehhxarj9ekxzmnyqyt8wumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnwdaehgu3wvfskueq555fk2, and buy some inbound liquidity with their LSP with a 1 million sat channel. And, OH! let's be private and use MPP, so let's make THREE 1 million sat channels... Wait, what's that, you don't have 3 million sats?? Come on, why are you so poor?? I've spent hundreds of dollars setting up a personal server to run my lightning node, I route whole bitcoins through my set-up!"
*Okay, sorry, I'm digressing too much, but you get my point, onboarding to self-custodial lightning has challenges for someone who owns no bitcoin and doesn't earn or save a lot (yet) in bitcoin.*
So, meet **jadeswan86**— not his real name obviously, but I've set him up with a **coinos.io** as a stop-gap measure for him to see the power of lightning and nostr and community.
His wallet is:
```jadeswan86@coinos.io```
Unfortunately it IS custodial, but has some positives. It's a **based** Canadian company (soon to be the 51st state of the US 😂) that is **private** and has ways for you to withdraw (via lightning, or more importantly for my coworker, to his on-chain wallet) when you've hit a certain threshold.
I'm sure you've all seen those posts where someone says, "hey I just got my taxi driver to sign up for **WoS** and accept bitcoin". I love sending a few thousand sats to people like that.
As much as I try to avoid things like **WoS**, they are a good starting point for beginners to accept small sums of bitcoin.
## So here's what I propose, send my mate a **beer** ($7) or a **coffee** ($4).
I'm trying to get him set up with a nostr account soon. Hopefully he can use it to get hooked up with his other privacy focused Chinese brethen. Dude is super based and has a lot of contempt for his government.
He was so curious how I got my blog "out there" and I told him about a decentralized sort of Twitter.
He doesn't **need** your charity. He doesn't complain. This is just something fun I wanted to do for him.
**But just being real, locals make shit here.**
That's it.
For obvious reasons I can't give you his real name or send a picture as proof that he exists, but he **IS** on telegram as **@Maxstar_pro** if you want to say hi. Ask him something in Chinese 😂 or something.
Do it **for the LULZ.** Imagine his face when a stranger in Canada or Brazil buys him a beer. 🍻
```Give me one sec.```
_He's my lab technician._
_He's a Chinese young dude._
I'm trying to get this man his very first stack of sats since exchanges are illegal here in China where I work as an expat teacher at an international school.
**Help the man due illegal shit. Get him sats.**
Forwarding everything from this post to him.

Is that enough do you think? I have about 12 myself.
What's the logic on that and why not just default people to 10+ out of the gate? Does it mess with loading times or latency?

BTW I made this a nostr zapathon FUNdraiser. For fun. The line represents 1 mil sats.
Do you work there? What would have happened to the sats that we're supposed to be forwarded to him?
I think he got them though. He's using the nsec from opening coinos... Or would they be held by nostr:nprofile1qqszpxr0hql8whvk6xyv5hya7yxwd4snur4hu4mg5rctz2ehekkzrvcpzamhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuurvv438xarj9e3k7mgpr9mhxue69uhkummnw3ezu7n9vfjkget99e3kcmm4vsq3yamnwvaz7tm0venxx6rpd9hzuur4vg5xqmxe til he put in an LNurl?
Will tell him tomorrow, we just left work
My Chinese coworker and lab technician is now on nostr!
As @damus and @primal needed him to run iOS 16 but he said it'd make his iphone run like shit, so he politely demurred to upgrade.
This is him checking his new lightning wallet I set up for him.
```jadeswan86@coinos.io```
Send him some zaps!! ⚡
