I think that from one angle, love moves and evolves on the vertical. Starts in your pants, centers in your heart and gets spread by creating living connections, through your mind. The spark at the base of it, is indeed an emotion. It's called bioenergy, we tend to translate it as emotional and sexual energy but is much larger, it drives the chemical communication of hormones and signaling molecules of all life. If I may be scientific about it.

Love is not something you build. Is something you give yourself to. Everyone sells "images of love" in different forms just to have you investing in it, empty love everywhere, that is the issue. Love has become cheap, buy yourself some serotonin or dopamine boosters and you have your hands on that feeling. We are alienated from the real power and the source. Because like you say, people have figured out ways to use it and harness it's power, but in reality leaves everyone empty handed because the truth about Love and it's Power is that you have to be worthy of it. In your heart.
You can laugh about it, it's only gonna gather more people to laugh about it and soon you're gonna be adding value to it. But it's still gonna be meaningless and stupid.
I lived a few days in the Fes citadela where I discovered the initiation of the labyrinth. As always I return humbled by the immensity of heart and wisdom of the people of the sands. This time I was surprised to notice that the young ones are starting to paint the walls, even if the Muslim religion has not allowed the picturesque representations, as a form of protection from the traps of the mirror where most of our society has fallen today. Someone asked recently on nostr about the definition of art. I think this graffiti is as good as a definition as you could get. 
Either I am getting mature, either the digital world is getting more and more ridiculous and meaningless. It's just a kids playground.

The paradox with art is that the people most probable to talk about it, try to explain and define it, are the ones who don't see it.
There are hundreds of years of esthetics theory, even thousands if we go back to the Greeks. Nobody knows, there are no accepted theories of it. It cannot be defined, this is the most clear thing we know about it. Because creating art is a transcendental phenomena.
Art encapsulates a hidden pathway/ethic/system. People gather together around a transcendental object which adds something to their collective consciousness that unifies, heals, transforms, etc. Art is creation, is beyond ego and the cult of personality, which nowadays turns artists into go(o)ds that sell themselves on markets. This kills the sacred dimension of art.
