That NIP looks good, would implement.

Do you know if many relays support https://github.com/nostr-protocol/nips/blob/master/33.md? I think it would directly enable the key-value storage feature on Nostr that I've been pushing. D tag is the key.

K-V storage would actually enable you to set block / follow / like status per event or user (d: "likes/${eventId}", content: "true") so you don't need to worry about your devices being out of sync and overwriting each others' lists.

And the events stay smaller when you update just one key, vs. events that contain a list of potentially 1000s of entries.

But that's something we can do later. NIP42 looks good.

from this discussion it looks like #[3] implemented it on his nostream relay already

https://github.com/nostr-protocol/nips/pull/54

the key-value storage thing is very interesting. and I have to agree that having likes as a replaceable event does make a lot of sense.

yeah agree. i think i'm interpreting block too literally. i think mute is more apt.

not yet. for mute I was hoping to use the encrypted lists nip (kind 30000) that I had proposed:Ā https://github.com/nostr-protocol/nips/pull/114

also wanted to get an unencrypted version out there.

#[0] do you guys have any documentation on these new kinds?

**[771756] [Nostr Plebs](https://nostrplebs.com) partners with [Snort](https://snort.social) to launch NIP-05 ID in-app registrations!**

New and current users of the popular Snort.social Nostr application will now be able to register their very own NIP-05 ID by utilizing the Nostr Plebs API. New users will be given the option to register their ID as part of the new on-boarding process and current users will be shown a new *Buy* icon when viewing their profile. This helps Snort users to become easily identifiable across Nostr while streamlining the whole process for Snort users via a few simple steps.

We would like to thank #[0]Ā and all contributors of Snort for their hard work and dedication on this integration as well as their incredibly smooth and high functioning Nostr client. Together, Nostr Plebs and Snort will continue to bring top tier customer support now paired with a high quality Nostr experience.

---

And lastly, I'd like to personally thank #[1]Ā for their continued hard work and dedication towards NostrPlebs.com. Without them, Nostr Plebs wouldn't be where it's at today. I look forward to continuing to provide services and support to all of you, my fellow Nostriches. We are all winning.Ā šŸ¤™

wow great work guys!! such a nice feature

but it doesn't pop up and ask you if you want pwa when you load the site like chrome. in the diagram below seems to be manual install only and not sure what that process looks like.

it occurred to me the other day that green and red were a terrible terrible choice as the default colors for positive and negative. like the 2 most common colors for color blindness.

i think its more just intentional negligence than lagging. they clearly prefer to never support it.

i find it very disappointing that apple doesn't even allow pwa to work like pwa on ios. protecting their walled garden at all costs.

Some ideas that would be interesting to explore:

- A file provider like https://nostr.build but offering torrent seeding instead of direct downloads

- A platform for turning torrent magnet links into images (caching them briefly)

- Nostr clients uploading stuff (small images) to these torrent providers and inserting the magnet links in the notes

- Nostr clients that download render magnet links as images (if file size and content-type are applicable)

- Nostr clients that don't want to download torrents directly can turn the magnet links into normal image links from the aforementioned platform

haha ok. very cool project to be aware of. prob won't consider it until its at least above 80% adoption, but maybe can choose back end based on availability..? gotta look into it.

haha glad i'm not alone

checkmarks just mean that astral was able to validate the nip05 listed. not sure if color really matters. and I don't want to be classifying different nip providers with different colors... though maybe users would want to do that themselves..?
