Me too!! I’ve just started dabbling with Azolla… In order to provide nutrients for that, I’m now thinking about Stock tanks and Mosquito Fish with a simple pump. Not quite ready to commit to wicking beds or anything like that as yet, but we all know how one thing leads to another!!
Nice build… I’m building a wooden BSF box this year, having had luck with a plastic tote and various composting bins. Hoping a wooden build will allow me to perfect the size and the ramp for harvesting the protein nuggets. I live in Georgia and have never had a problem getting them to colonize my compost/worm bins. Would love to scale production and find a way to over winter them.
I don’t know. I’m not a ham - yet! - But I’m interested in this and am curious of the answer to your question. #grownostr
We’ve used an electrolyzed poultry net for the past 3 years, with our Chickens! It’s been awesome - only lost one chook to predators and that was a hawk!! We use a small energizer with a long wire that we can run to anywhere in our yard, as we rotate the chickens. It wouldn’t take much to build a small solar unit to make it mobile, though. Cheaper than pre-made solar energizer for sure. #permaculture #grownostr
Awesome!! I’m considering one of these for my worms. We’re fortunate enough to not have fire-ants at our current property, but our old property was riddled with them and this would have been a saviour!! #grownostr
Do you have a ‘wild’ rabbit problem? #grownostr
Any recommendations for fertilizer for seedlings once they have true leaves #growNostr #permaculture
I try to add rabbit droppings or worm castings to everything that we grow. I have trouble finding ‘clean’ fertilizer from external sources, so we make this ‘In house’… Are you thinking of a product that you can buy and apply? Also, do you mean something that is easy to apply to seedlings whilst in seed trays?
