Bitcoin and Basketball 😎 The Cool Kids are on Nostr Now. We Use Bitcoin. We Are Free.

It doesn’t even matter if I am or not. I’m just one man

When Greg says the word “special” he says it the way ppl use it towards him. So he’s kinda right 🤷‍♂️😂

- Why Nostr eventually swallows centralized content platforms by inverting their business models and returning market power to creators -

There’s been plenty of discussion about how Nostr is disrupting Twitter but that’s only the beginning. Other centralized platforms that content creators are beholden to for their so-called “network effects” are also ripe for disruption. Consider how lame and common it is that artists, writers, podcasters, and other content creators without a personal website or direct newsletter have to ask you to subscribe to [insert centralized platform name here] to monetize what they do. With Nostr, the creators can drive traffic to themselves and the various clients allow for direct monetization via the relays and zaps without cutting in a third party platform.

When diverse kinds of content can be presented in an aesthetically pleasing, easily accessible manner on a heterogeneous menu of Nostr clients, what’s the purpose of centralized platforms like Twitter, Substack, Patreon, and Twitch, just to name a few? If people increasingly exist on a global censorship resistant protocol then it naturally follows that content creators will want to exist and monetize their content there too.

How can Nostr clients exist in such a way that long form writers, podcasters, shitposters, streamers, and others can present what they do in a way that makes leaving centralized platforms undeniable? As someone who can contribute more words than code I will be the first to say that I have the utmost respect for the developers and this is not a criticism of what they do in any way. It’s simply trying to lay out a vision for how I see Nostr adoption evolving and growing to meet the needs of a larger network of people as they begin to evolve their habits away from centralized platforms to a fresher future of decentralized, censorship free communication and media that features an organic exchange of ideas with value for value instead of value for algo.

I believe the easier it is to consume long form writing, microblogging, art, podcasts, and other content on clients using Nostr as the underlying protocol the brighter the future will be for both Nostr and Bitcoin adoption. Bullish!

Pura Vida 🤙🏽⚡️GFY

The ability to create content in a value for value world is next level. Imagine a YouTube like Nostr client without having to be worried about getting cancelled bc you have a guest on that says retard. The censorship resistance of Nostr combined with value for value is why in my opinion all content creators will end up on Nostr.

Sometimes you need a good friend like #[0] to remind you:

I’m not special. It’s bitcoin thats special. Get back to work 🤙

There’s no turning back. Make it illegal I’m still here, make it for criminals I’m still here, make it for the undesirables I’m still here. Literally die hard

Don’t worry, Janet Yellen will still tax your unrealized gains 😂

Can’t believe you go boating in the summer. Criminals use boats to move drugs. You bastards!
