Meeting with all 3 makes sense. I do have a problem with any foreign leader speaking to Congress.

Congress is supposed to represent American citizens, not foreign interests. No foreigner should be allowed to stand up and tell (or beg) Congress what to do. I don't care who the person is or which country they represent. It is wrong.

A foreign leader can meet with government officials. A foreign leader can even give a speech on American soil, but they should not do it from the floor of Congress.

That is a start, but I sure hope her resignation doesn't lead to everyone ending the investigations into what happened. I have doubts that she is smart enough to coordinate what happened, and I know she can't have done it all by herself. I'm worried she will just be a fall guy used to end the investigation.

**I am enjoying my kids so much these days.**

I have a 10YO girl and 12YO boy. I feel like I just want time to stay still. But why do a need to feel like it is going to get worse or change? It got me thinking what can I do to always enjoy them. Please follow along on my journey while I learn and explore ways to always enjoy our kids.

Here are some helpful ideas:

1. This is the most important thing I do to enjoy my kids. Fill your own cup first. That could be drinking coffee by yourself in the morning, working out, taking a shower (shout out new Moms), meeting up with other parents or just eating a carton of Ben and Jerry's. Whatever it may be, it needs to make you feel happy and satisfy your soul.

*Personal Example*: I am a homeschool Mom and am with my kids all day. I love to wake up in the morning and take a walk or do yoga with my friends before my kids are awake. If that doesn't work out, I will sit and drink coffee by myself and read or scroll the internet.

2. When your child is talking to you about something important, stop what your doing and look into their eyes and listen to what they are saying. We get so busy that we are always multi-tasking but sometimes we need to stop and do the one thing that is most important and listen. Try to understand what is so important to them. Connect with them.

*Personal Example*: My 12 YO son has a infrequent studder. If I am not paying attention to him while he is talking to me, it tends to become more frequent. This helps me to stop whatever thing I think is important and listen to what he is saying.

3. If at all possible, try to find time to spend one-on-one time with each child. This can be nearly impossible at times when our schedules are so busy but it is very important to try and do. Even if it is a 5 minute walk around the block or a trip to the grocery store.

*Personal Example*: My alone time with each of my kids are when the other one is at their extracurricular activties. We live in a rural area so we can't run home during their activites. Instead we go to the library, grocery store or my favorite one in the summer is paddleboarding.

4. From @theconsciousparentinghub "the greatest gift a child can ever receive is a parent who can emotionally regulate. A parent who can emotionally regulate is patient, open for connection, and, most importantly, allows the child to fail, as that's where the most learning occurs." I am still guilty of trying to help my child not fail but am working on it daily.

*Personal Example*: I have quit drinking alcohol since Feb 2023. This has helped me so much with connection of my children, being present and my emotional regulation is the best it's ever been, just ask my kids! Instead of worrying about when it's five o'clock so I can unwind with a glass of wine, cocktail or beer, I now am focusing on what healthy dinner I can make for my family, or what fun thing we can do after we eat. Some people can manage their alcohol, family life and everything but for me quiting has been a huge part of a missing peice of connection to my family.

I hope this helps other families out there. And please let me know of other ideas so we can continue along this path of enjoyment. Thanks Shasta

Great post! Welcome to NOSTR.

My youngest has Down Syndrome and had a bunch of major health problems when he was little. Because he needed my attention so much, it was easy to give what little energy I had to him alone. (His health problems included frequent breathing problems, so I never once went into a deep sleep for 2+ years and therefore was barely functioning.) Because it was so hard to give anything to my older son or my husband, I had to schedule them in. I always devoted 30 minutes to my eldest son, every afternoon during my youngest's nap time. It would be tempting to use this time to get household chores done or to try to rest, but even though my oldest was pretty self-sufficient, he still needed Mom time. I've never regretted that time with him and we are close to this day. (He is now in college.)

I just read an article on Mercola.com about a new AI, Perplexity.ai, that does some things differently to try to prevent the hallucinations and lies that some of the AI tell. It also gives every answer with sources, so you can verify the information. It also recommends additional, related topics to investigate.

I had just written an article on God's definition of marriage, so I asked it, "What does the Bible say about the purpose and design of marriage?" I was really impressed with its answer and the suggested follow up questions.

Although I would never trust AI to give me the perfect answer to a spiritual question, this one worked well enough, it could be useful for research or getting started on an idea.

And she has a history of using government force against her opponents. If we get President Harris, the attacks on political opponents will get significantly worse.

I tend to think that incompetence got in the way of malice where the Trump shooting is concerned.

The US has been able to get away with massive dollar creation because it has been the world reserve currency and almost all, if not all nations, hold dollars in reserve. These dollars are out of circulation and therefore don't cause the inflation that would normally occur. The foolish people in charge are using the dollar as a weapon (first seizing Russia's USD reserves and then transferring them to Ukraine) as well as other events, right when the world is starting to move away from the dollar (many nations petitioning to join BRICS, Saudi Arabia selling oil in other currencies, etc.)

The weaponization of the dollar is going to make all of these nations dump their dollars because they don't want their dollars seized if they displease the US .

What happens when all of those dollars come home? The most likely effect is massive inflation, maybe even true hyper inflation.

The self-important morons in charge are destroying the dollar that gives them the power they so greatly desire. Things never end well with fools and the US has been led primarily by fools for most of my life and the number of fools as well as the level of foolishness has been growing exponentially.

well, i use nostr.land and nostr.wine and relay.tools

nostr:npub10npj3gydmv40m70ehemmal6vsdyfl7tewgvz043g54p0x23y0s8qzztl5h , who runs relay.tools, is a cool guy, and i think you can trust him to keep your data for you, i use one, in fact i should add you to the allowed pubkeys

When I go to nostr.wine, it tells me it is 18,888 sats to join. Is that forever, a year, a month, or something else. If that is forever, it is a no brainer. If it is a year, it is almost as certain. If it is something shorter, I'll have to decide what I want to do. I'll run out of sats in my alby wallet pretty fast. I can't find details on what I'm paying for.

Always a critical fact to remember.

People also need to remember that when asked about right and wrong or how something should work, an answer of "I think ...", "I believe ...", or "I feel ..." is making yourself God. The only correct answer is "The Bible says ...".

“If Joe Biden doesn't have the cognitive function to run for re-election, then he certainly doesn't have the cognitive function to remain as Commander-In-Chief.

How can any Dem pushing him to drop out of the presidential race, argue in good faith that he should stay on as POTUS?”

-JD Vance

The problem is that Kamala Harris isn't senile, but is as dumb and radical as someone who is. President Harris would be worse than a senile President Biden, so they are limping along till the election hoping those behind Biden can keep it together for a few more months.

How does anyone differentiate between lost and forever hodl?

I'd argue there are much fewer than a third in state 1 (sadly probably <10%) and also less than a third in state 3. I'd bet more than half are in the wishy washy middle that have no real moral compass and usually just follow the crowd.

We are in the last days and I truly believe time is short. I can't say whether it is days, months, or years, but I will be shocked if I live to an old age and the rapture hasn't come. All of the technology necessary to make the end times prophecies come true are either here, or in almost ready development.

It makes zero sense that people hate something so much that the supposedly don't believe exists. I do not believe anyone can have that kind of hate towards something that doesn't exist. God/Jesus does exist and they can't stand it because it means they aren't free to do as they please. There is a higher authority and there is someone smarter and more powerful than them.

In college I was taking a chemistry class. The professor one day made an aside saying, "The Bible talks of Hell as being a lake of fire and brimstone. Brimstone is sulfur. Sulfur is a liquid between 266 degrees and 309 degrees Fahrenheit. I just thought some of you might need to know this fact. Now where was I?" He then went back to his normal lecture.

That is a memorable way to sneak some theology into a college class.

Exactly! He prunes those He cares about.

Whether you are talking a Christian or a secular life, it isn't whether you made a mistake or not, but did you learn from that mistake?

My eyes have failed me. I've seen your icon for weeks and thought I was looking at a photo of an old guy with a beard. I just clicked on your post to see your whole feed and it is a cat. Now all I can see is a cat. I can't believe my eyes were seeing an old man with a beard. I think I am the one getting old.

It isn't always the cost that matters. I've had a Rolex (a gift from my father) and a Timex. I liked the Timex better. It had indiglo, so I could see it in the dark. The Rolex would get dirty and quit keeping proper time after 3-5 years and have to be cleaned. The cleaning cost was several hundred dollars. I could buy at least 10 Timex's for that price. Such a waste of money.

Or by people who make more money from the advanced features mandated.

Slowly adding more and more smart features makes it easier for the government to track our movement and will make it easy for the government to eventually control our cars and therefore our freedom to travel.

In my youth, I really like sports, especially college football, but as I grew up, got married, started a business, and had kids, it got moved so low down the priority list that I have zero interest anymore. It is more interesting if you know the players and teams and stuff, but it isn't worth my time to even watch a few minutes here and there.
