I am more and more convinced that the true denominator of commerce and the economy is joules of energy. How many joules of energy does it take to harvest commodities, refine and assemble them, then transport them.
This, in accordance with @`Jeff Booth`'s deflationary state of the free market, naturally goes down over time. Therefore, it should require a human less calories of energy expended in labor to earn these goods and services.
Any increase or steady level of labor required to afford the same goods and services each year is a reflection of the theft, corruption and inefficiency in the system.
