GM! Broke out my Quest over the past few days. I've been really enjoying revisiting some of my favorites from the early days of Steam VR.
Also really enjoyed finally giving Half Life Alyx a try. Really polished experience. Maybe if I can get Gnostream figured out I'll stream a bit of it later this week nostr:nprofile1qqspdudqzqx5ellme3prp68qus5se3vynsddcexkv5la5p7qxxcswjcprdmhxue69uhhw6r9v96zu6rpwpc8jarpwejhym3wvdhj7qghwaehxw309aex2mrp0yhxummnw3ezucnpdejz7qgnwaehxw309ahkvenrdpskjm3wwp6kytcymfx7k
Watched Weapons this weekend.
I thought it was a unique horror movie that told a story in a really interesting way. Really enjoyed it.
Some body horror and gory sequences.
5 bags of popcorn, and a little picture of a puppy that you can look at after you've watched it.

Turns out - vibe electrical engineering is not as effective as vibe coding. But we're still out here making things. No sweat.
Cooked up some circuits last night. Accidentally ordered a display expecting 3.3v data. Did that stop me?
Hell nah

My heart is heavy. I fear for what is to come.

Small interesting history fact: the Florida Keys seceded from the union 1982 and declared war on the US. It was mostly a publicity stunt to get a Border Patrol roadblock removed.
I did a report on this in eighth grade and just remembered it as I commuted to the fiat mine.

Awesome. That's the word I use. Haha.

This typo went out of our office today and it cracks me up. nostr:nprofile1qyfhwumn8ghj7mmxve3ksctfdch8qatz9uq3xamnwvaz7tmsw4e8qmr9wpskwtn9wvhsqgqk7xspqr2vllaucs3sarswg2gvckzfcxkuvntx2076qlqrrvg8fva8ysrt
What is today but yesterday's tomorrow?
Get shit done today nostr.
My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.
Completed Satisfactory this weekend!
Took my father and I 450 hours to finish the game. There is still more to do, but it was really a great way to spend time with my father, and a really rewarding experience. For those of you into automation/process control, I have to believe this is the best of the automation game genre.
I'll take any recommendations though!

I thought so too! And then they had lane malfunctions that ate the first 20 minutes of my hour, and the attendant acted like I was being unreasonable asking for that time back....
It was a wild experience.
Took my youngest bowling yesterday. They wanted $63 for an hour on a lane. We will be mini golfing from now on.

For those who don't know (basically all of you) I became a father at 15 years old. It was a wild experience, and I had to grow up quickly, and I'm far from perfect. But as my son approaches that age (he's 14 now) parenting has never felt more important and pressing. I am constantly aware of myself in him. Pros and Cons. He's an amazing person, and I couldn't be more proud of him. However, the Prime Directive has never felt more pressing:
"Raise children who are better than you are."
I feel proud of the job I've done so far. I feel proud of the man my son is becoming in front of my eyes. He is better than me in many ways, and the list keeps growing.
I truly cannot imagine life without children.
Yeah I came after that, so it feels okay. I like that there's enough crumbs there that I can write my loaf. Haha
Some photos of the Factory my dad and I are designing in Satisfactory. About 300 hours in on our first play through and this is the megafactory we designed for Phase 4 completion. I believe it to be a novel concept in Satisfactory. We built a giant factory floor with a central bus of all resources from the rest of the map, with extra belts for things produced on the floor. This way you are provided with near infinite scalability. I don't know how many Pioneers are on Nostr, but if there is interest, I'll write up a long form post on the design, and maybe a few quick videos!
