Hrmmm thats not very inclusive of them is it... my snowflake peen has hurt feelings over this. Alexa, open up "my safe space"
I just got an email from corporate with the subject: Using AI to Advance DEI
🤮🤮🤮
It is worth mentioning I also use podcasting 2.0 on both sides of the fence.
As someone who hosts RSS content, the podcast 2.0 systems currently in place are far far better than what exists elsewhere. Again, there are improvements that can be made. But I wouldn't go so far as to call it broken bad tech that requires "warnings" 😆 a bit dramatic there bud.
I do appreciate you having specific criticisms and I don't necessarily disagree with the things that you say are wrong. But coming from an industry that's significantly worse off, the current implementations, with all its flaws, are magnitudes better and significantly less predatory than what came before.
If we only waited to use products that were 100% perfect and followed the highest morals and ideals to a T, we would never ship or use any products. Strive for perfection but understand that it's not truly achievable. All we can do is be better than yesterday. Podcasting 2.0 is better than the legacy system.
I use it and enjoy using it. Not sure what "influencers" you're speaking of. Is it flawed, sure, but it's better than legacy systems and evolution takes time.
Wrong choice of words. Meant to say client, not platform.
Sounds like your gripe is with the implementation and builds? We are early days and nostr clients had similar inefficiencies at the start (and quite frankly we aren't there yet). I think the underlying ideas and intentions are sound. It's more of the execution that needs refinement, evolution, and further decentralization, or at the very least, more foss implementation.
Wavlake is good but typically only for music. See my other reply, I have a few suggestions on there. I usually use PodcastGuru.
What about the 4v4 podcast ecosystem do you find to be bs?
IMO, the platform provides a service and deserves compensation. The DJ or whatever also deserves compensation for collating the content. The artist/presenter (in the case of a radio show) obviously deserves compensation as well.
All of the splits happen automatically, in the spur of the moment, and with one touch. You can write messages so it's interactive and creators can see what and when you're zapping. It's arguably more seamless than having to figure out each of the ppl who are actually creating the content > find their socials > DM to get a wallet > send them value. That just seems so manual and not something 99.9% of ppl are willing to do. V4v only works when it's frictionless. Most ppl aren't gonna go out of their way to donate.
None are perfect but I like PodcastGuru, Podverse, and TrueFans. Curiocaster is pretty good on desktop but unusable on mobile.
Yup, doing as good as can be expected while the world around us burns!
Don't run too fast. Way too competitive. Careful now.
#5 underhand pitching only. Wtf?!
That's a homerun waiting to happen.
Just wanna say hi. Hope everyone's doing alright!
Ready to go into the oven for a sexy little reverse sear.
It's gonna be 🤤🤤🤤
Joe working the crowd. 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽 Can't wait to make this v4v. Please reach out if you can help me make it a reality!
