Decentralisation, self-sufficiency, self-sovereignty.

Anyone any idea why, using #Iris, my nip05 is shows as valid on the mobile client, but invalid on the browser client?

I can't understand why it's taken so long to sort, TBH. If you run Brave, tipping tweets has been a feature for many months already

I happen to like Elon, and think that his exposure of the Twitter Files was vital in revealing the deep-state penetration of social media. But that's beside the point: the fact is that he *can* manipulate Twitter, and whether or not I agree with his political biases, I know that there may come a time when we diverge or he gives control to someone else.

The 'Fight against Disinformation' is becoming the new banner for censorship. It's been clear to everyone over the past 3 years that 'fact checkers' are politically compromised and often simply a cover for dismissing politically-inconvenient truths.

Facebook, for example, funds numerous 3rd party firms, like THIP Media, to 'fact check' articles according to its internal editorial stance. It then uses these supposedly-neutral 'fact checks' as a reason to suppress sharing of the articles on its platform!

On a larger scale, organisations like the Global Disinformation Index do the same. GDI uses the veneer of an independent, 'neutral' charity to label various outlets as disinformation. In fact, founders Clare Melford & Daniel Rogers are fully establishment figures, who are totally compromised. (Just as the US security industry had multiple back-doors into Twitter, so it has influence over Rogers).

That's why NOSTR is vital. The world needs censorship-resistant media more than ever before.

First note I've seen with 100+ comments and 100+ likes. Feels like an apt milestone, somehow.

The past 2 years have shown everyone that mainstream media channels - even supposedly impartial scientific journals - are utterly corrupted by political and commercial interests. They've shown us that censorship is rife, even in countries which proclaim their 'openness'. They've shown us that debt-addicted governments will not hesitate to debase their countries' currencies to buy votes. Decentralised currency and decentralised social media are absolutely of the moment, and more & more people are realising this. It's going to be unstoppable.

Happy Valentines Day, nostritches. Although NOSTR is super-cool, I hope everyone is still able to get away from their devices and spend some personal time with their loved ones. 💜
