Coracle 0.3.7 is out! If I've been quiet lately, it's because I've been busy. This release has a whole lot of really useful stuff in it, so I'll be doing some videos over the course of this week to highlight certain things.

For example:

You can now listen to music published to nostr from stemstr while you browse.

Coracle now has a local relay that you can export or import to from your "Database" settings page.

Lots of content filtering features, including word muting and content warning support.

The notifications page has been overhauled, and now has much more context.

And, of course, as usual I completely re-wrote the backend to squash some annoying bugs related to whether or not you've read a notification, deleted a list, or joined a chat room.

Here's the full list:

- [x] Add local relay

- [x] Reduce wait time for person feeds

- [x] Add global music player

- [x] Support bech32 entities in long form content

- [x] Add support for profile website

- [x] Speed up reaction/reply loading

- [x] Add content-warning support

- [x] Link to github for feedback

- [x] Fix chat room joined status

- [x] Fix list deletion

- [x] Reduce repeated notes in feeds

- [x] Add database import/export

- [x] Use a bloom filter for deletes

- [x] Remember reply drafts

- [x] Topic/keyword mutes

- [x] Add person mute list to settings

- [x] Split out content settings into its own page

- [x] Improve quote loading

- [x] Show quotes even when media previews are off

- [x] Stop cursor events when menu is open

- [x] Restore document title on back

Just saw the šŸŽ¶ — great job. Thanks!

Why reprogram? dave’s strength is that you can chat about many topics— but the human brain synthesizes & makes meaning.

Sure. I found his photo online— and the quote was shared by a dear poet who I used to follow Twitter/x. I took a screenshot to preserve the words. I have some Czeslaw Milosz books— but editions vary— what are you researching?

Not sure. But there was the issue of the ā€œshadow librariesā€ — who knows. I enjoyed the flood— when so many conversations were happening with dave simultaneously. I found it thrilling—

I hope you do— we may have something in common.

ā€œIn a story one arrives at knowledge of whom, how, where, when. But it is why that electrifes,

ejects us across pain and water toward other mysteries.

When why does not appear, we are held in thrall. We feel its absence like ourselves in the dark, molting toward a figure that never reveals itself. We imagine bodies opening into a dictionary.

This is how I learned English. As a dissection, and snow in my ears. It was elementary in the sense that I believed it would give me the basic condition (rupture) to meet the life that is alien

to me.ā€ ~Cynthia Dewi Oka https://youtu.be/60xrQTUPies?si=8_yzFia2v7w4utuL

thanks for the song— last spring I attended a jazz/poetry event— Terrance Hayes & Cynthia Dewi Oka. Cynthia— in her book— drawings as well as the song titles she listened to while creating. https://www.cynthiadewioka.com/

Interesting. I hope you tell me more about this later.

"The purpose of poetry is to remind us how difficult it is to remain just one person"

Not sure what made me think of this— I had a strange flashback to a story my German Grandfather told me. He left Germany at a young age— crossed back & forth before settling in the USA. He only went to school until 6th grade. This was before World War II.

Are you homeschooling your kids? I’ve worked with parents before who homeschooled their kids. DM me if you ever need reading resources. I have a deep respect for parents who choose this route— šŸ’œšŸ“–

thanks!— just saw your comment. Will investigate Nostore.

why can’t I use my nsec on my phone or is that what nos2x is for— I don’t use a desk top for Nostr unfortunately. Probably need to fix that.
