Morning thoughts as I brew more coffee. Might be off my ass.

I'm genuinely curious why a lot of Bitcoiners who come from a supposed culture of "don't trust and verify" blindly gargle down anything that has Jack's name attached to it.

This whole ocean thing has me thinking again. While it seems to be a potentially cool mining pool model. They've already proven that they're not as open as they claim to be. They're censoring transactions, or at least plan to. I guess they haven't found a block yet, so they haven't really had a chance to censor transactions but they're using knots instead of core. So that means by default they're using Luke's heavily censored version of core. They claim transparency but the code isn't open source So there's really no way of checking what they're doing. And with other pools, openly censoring OFAC, non-compliant transactions, it genuinely makes me worry about the future of Bitcoin in general.

I guess ultimately this will be anouther test of the Bitcoin network and whether or not we can actually truly be censorship resistant. or if it's doomed to fail through regulatory capture of the mining network and overly opinionated people who are opposed to free market competition becuause They don't like what is unfortunatly legitimate use of block space. (Honestly, it feels weird. It feels like im Defending fucking ordinals, but whatever.)

Just morning thoughts as jog my brain with coffee. Maybe I'm just being a worry-wart. Blech either way this all feels dirty. I genuinely don't think anyone would have an issue with oceans if they just came out and said "hey we're going to be starting a mining pool and we're going to censor some transactions that we don't like and if you don't want to follow those rules then you don't have to use our pool." Instead of coming out with a whole song and dance preaching about openness.

Good morning nostrworld! Time for morning coffee and making plans for the day. Its Friday, so we'll be visiting the resale shop, and hopefully find some good stuff. Our resale shop has gottten busier and busier, I guess because their prices really are very reasonable. Plus I've seen re-sellers from out of town buy a bunch of stuff. But the proceeds get put back into the local economy, so its good. That reminds me, I need to check to see when my next volunteer day is.

After that, we'll see what I will start on next. Maybe I'll start a few tree cuttings today. And trim up the trails, and go get mulch. But one thing at a time.
