Focusing 2026 on coaching Bitcoin builders and leaders newsletter: danielbatten.substack.com

Working with some inspiring people right now. Here’s our goal

What: 50 landfills mining Bitcoin

Why: This takes the Bitcoin network emission-negative, starves FUD of oxygen and enables greater Bitcoin adoption

How (mathematically)

How (practically)

Announcement coming…

Awesome story. Those who say that there are no emotions in reptiles because they only have, well, a reptilian brain will be pondering this one.

We know this

But good that others are starting to get it too

Nice. Just tried it, paid my sats and got the handle Dsbatten@nostrich.love

Anything else I need to do?

Three attempts to get a nip-05 verification. Three fails!

Have tried using a non-gmail account.

What am I doing wrong?

Without Bitcoin mining - we cannot transition our grids to renewable energy fast enough to meet the world’s climate change targets

Like EVs, Bitcoin mining is fully electrified so has zero direct emissions.

Each has indirect emissions when the electricity it uses was generated from a fossil fuel source.

Here’s a comparison of the two technologies.

Turns out Bitcoin is greener.

Bitcoin is likely to be the first major industry to go emission negative - without offsets

Google says “the narrative is changing”

Emission intensity is down again.

Bitcoin has almost halved its emission intensity over the last 3 years.

No other global industry on earth can claim this.

LFG = landfill gas

Not only will Bitcoin fail to boil the oceans, it will be the world’s first industry to become emission negative without carbon credits

Great primer to share with people who’ve heard some misinformation about Bitcoin.

Thanks. I hope so. I don’t get to see much direct evidence of whether it causes people to change their minds or reconsider their stance.
